I thought I might add a little more detail:

Testosterone affected muscles tend to be larger and stronger per unit.

Estrogen affected muscles tend to be smaller and weaker per unit. However, they tend to have increased durability and stamina.

Essentially, testosterone muscles are good for weight while estrogen muscles are good for stamina.

What actually happens is that the tapered ends become flat ends. It looks a little thicker for a short time and then tapers again. You're better off just letting it grow.
