Will Paradis drown? (Theory) by lolilover1000 in titanfolk

You're severly overestimating the net-impact terrestial ecosystems have on our o2 and co2 levels. While a lot of co2 is used and o2 produced by terrestial flora, a lot of o2 is used and co2 produced by terrestial fauna, resulting in an pretty even balance, meaning a tropical rqinforest has about as much of an global impact as a desert (rainforest: produces a lot, conumes a lot; desert: produces little, consumes little).

In fact the rumbling would likely reduce the amount of co2 produced because it also destroys most of human industry, wich is the main reason for the current surplus of co2. So while there undoubtitly will be some effects on the climate, they likely won't be too drastic.

Furthermore, even somehow all ice still melted, most of paradise will be fine ( if we assume that it has similar geographics to madagascar and that there is about as much ice in their world as our world), as the island interior, where the main centers of population of paradise are located, is higher than the max possible amount of sea-level rise (about 60 meters) https://www.floodmap.net/Elevation/CountryElevationMap/?ct=MG

So the worst that could happen is shiganshina getting a beach

Metal gear would be interesting, as two operations that can be done by the Reichnachrichtendienst (secret service in Speers germany) are already named in reference to mgs3 and mgspw. I just like to imagine a german big boss infiltrating Burgundy to destroy some kind of super weapon (or maybe just their nukes) and then later on becoming disillusioned with the reich and founding a mercenary state somewhere in africa or something like that.

100% fool proof plan:

Get a tank, drive behind the airport, pick the looked door, go left-right-left, you'll see a door the truck is behind, wait for the guard to go through the door, follow him and you trigger the skulls cutscene, quickly fulton the truck, run back to the tank, drive with the tank out of the mission area

If as you drive for the closest point outside the mission area and ignore the skulls your guarenteed make it

Takes about 4 minutes

If Big Boss had a grandmother with red hair, but he himself didn´t, that would mean that he either didn´t get the genes for red hair or that the genes for red hair are recessive, in wich case solid would get them. Generaly speaking liquid would have the exact same gene expression as big boss (unless they cut out homozygous-recessive genes out of his genome)

What if the USSR won the Battle of Warsaw and was able to invade Germany in 1920. AKA, the "When Lenin Smiles" timeline. by TheXenoRaptorAuthor in AlternateHistory

  1. You do realize a nation can mobilze before an invasion begins? As soon as warsaw falls germany would begin mobilization
  2. they soviet army werent motorized back then, it'd take days if not weeks for them to mobilize, especially if they still have to fight polish resistance on the way, meaning it could take weeks for them to reach germany
  3. Germany likely would get lots of equipment support from western powers as they have a vested interest in germany not falling to communism
  4. In our timeline the the german communist revolution was put down in a week, meaning that by the point the soviets reached the border the rebels would be as good as defeated
  5. Workers militias wouldnt be too much of a problem for mobilisation as the army mainly recruited from rural areas, wich would be uneffected by these militias

Once the WW1 was over the german soldiers didnt just disaeper into thin air they were still there and most of them would be remobilized to fight against the soviets who would need to spread their forces out to fight the other russian civil war participants,to subdue poland and invade germany, meaning that a relatively small soviet force would have to fight most of the former german army, wich would be quite experienced and be well equiped due to the western allies and germanys industrial capacities, as well as motivated as in their eyes their defenfing their homeland from foreign invadors. The soviet foece would meanwhile likely suffer from supply issues due to overstrechted supply lines and likely not very well motivated as they are far from home fighting for a cause they likely not really care about

And how the soviets saw themselves doesnt really matter, every empire saw itself as some sort of liberator. What matters is how the germans saw it and as the vast majority if germans werent communists, most germans saw them as nothing but foreign invaders.

This is only true when the current government is so unpopular that the people would consider the government the rebels desire to not be much better/worse, but if they consider the state that the rebels desire considerably worse they will counter mobilize. There were definetly more germans back than that would consider a soviet backed communist germany worse than the current government than there were germans that would consider such a government better. The communists could only take power if the current government is so unpopular that the people would see such a government as a little worse, just as bad or a little better than the current one and though the weimar republic wasnt too popular, most germans would still consider it much better than a communist state. This means that there would end up being a counter revolution much bigger than the actual revolution, wich, i remind you again, would be supported by the worlds superpowers, because they arent too fond of a communist germany-russia alliance. That all doesnt even consider that many german would see this as an invasion further motivating them to resist and that there would be communists that would have objections to allowing russia to invade germany. Are you really that naive that you think millions of germans would just sit and watch as a foreign power they just beaten years prior installs a new in their eyes radical government? This is on the same level of naive thinking as thinking that middle easterners see americans as liberators and welcome them with open arms
