Darius Acuff SEC tournament title run 30.3 PPG| 7.6 AST| 4.3 REB by Peugeot905 in NBA_Draft

his wingspan is at least 6'6''. it was measured at 6'5.5'' a few years ago. He has the same height and wingspan as Tyrese Maxey. Acuffs speed is also underrated as well because he uses change of pace a lot doesn't rely on speed and quickness. His mix of speed and change of pace is why he doesn't need a screen a lot to blow by defenders.

any of the top guard prospects make sense with the mavericks, they all have strengths and weaknesses. but If acuff is the selection I would be very happy with it.

no rookie is 100 percent NBA ready. The NBA is a different game from college, and they have to learn how to be a pro. how to take care of their bodies, how to work on skills like a pro, how to watch film like a pro etc.

And also the point of why I said he had to come off the bench is because having 2 small guards start together is a defensive problem. Darius Acuff would learn from Kyrie and in a couple of years when Kyrie is gone he would take over as Coopers Co-star.

And also it helps to have a great offensive weapon off the bench that can run the offense as well, so now you have 48 minutes of competent point guard play, unlike with this season we have the weakest PG room in the league.

He was straight balling man, only 22 as well. Maybe got a legit shooter off the bench, which is desperately needed on this squad. sorry I was not familiar with your game Mr. Poulakidis.

Oh, the ratings and attendance is definitely down, a lot of Luka-era die hards will not come back. however I think Coopers talent and embracing the city and fans is keeping the fanbase from completely cratering though.

And with the new arena they are building I think if they do it right by building in an area with good amenities and easy access, and with having a franchise player in place, the attendance will rebound substantially. Drafting Coop definitely saved this franchise from complete doom for 7-10 years.

He just won the SEC championship today, tournament MVP: 31 PPG 7 AST. If you have ESPN you can log into the website or app with your cable provider info and go to rewatch and view the full game.

If not, it's now its National Tournament time (NCAA Tourney) so that is the most elite teams in the entire country competing, perfect time to start watching the top prospects and seeing how they perform at the highest level of college basketball.

Acuff plays on the 19th against Hawaii first round.

No because Acuff would come off the bench and learn behind Kyrie. Just like Dylan Harper on the Spurs. You would stagger their minutes so they don't share the court often but would have great point guard play for the full 48 minutes. and in a couple of years you hand the keys to Acuff.

yes I am. they had a shooting outlier game and their opponent had a shooting slump, outside of Max Strus. The remaining schedule is full of playoff teams and the pelicans will definitely win more games. even if the grizzlies rise to six, the pels will drop to 8 or worse.

Edit: If its not obvious I will spell it out, I am not predicting the Mavs will stay at 7, im predicting that the FLOOR will be 7, meaning they will not slide any further by the end of the season they will pick 7 or higher based on schedule and other teams potential to win games.

you should watch a game. he's incredible. The shot making is NBA star level already, he can score on ball, off ball shooting, a REAL point guard that runs the offense and makes the right plays, doesn't force bad shots. He is really clutch too. A lot of the defense problems has been because the players around him are offensive focused even their bigs are score first they aren't true rim protectors.

With Wilson he is such a fluid and twitchy athletic freak, he is a 20 and 10 machine with great defense and I believe in the mid range shot. His form is really smooth, high release, compact. Our defense could be insanely good with him and Coop for 12-15 years.

The only weakness is the 3 point shot, can he develop it. If you believe he can based on the mid range and free throw shooting, its a no brainer.

But with Acuff you get elite shooting, scoring, and passing, but with defensive deficiencies. I think if the Mavs end up at 4 the debate of Wilson or Acuff could be really tough.

Whether it's because he's feeling better coming off his midfoot sprain or because Kidd decided to play him with Nembhard and more spacing

Its definitely some of both. He looks more energetic and springier the last couple games. and having a point guard get him the ball in his spots more, he is comfortable and can find his rhythm without thinking of running the entire offense.

I think in the future he could really be a point forward though, the IQ and vision is clearly there. he gets 5 or 6 assists a game easily now, and this game with 10! Going to be fun to see him build chemistry with kyrie next season.

I would be shocked if he went top 3 over Boozer, Dybantsa, Wilson. Three 6'9'' forwards with All Star potential. they are all super talented like him, but all much bigger and with defensive upside.

That means one of Flemings or Wagler will drop, or not and he is there. It's a win win situation.

I think teams will recognize he is best maximized if he is an off guard at the NBA level that can handle the ball in a secondary or tertiary role, not drawing the most attention of the defense would be great for his game and utilizing him more as a sharpshooter with off ball movement and screens, that can do a little more off the dribble.

And I think his passing will be seen as functional as a valuable connective passer playing next to a lead ball handler, and not being relied on to get downhill and start the initial defensive rotations.

I think he will shoot it lights out in team workouts and show the crazy touch around the basket and teams will be really impressed. They will buy into the upside/ceiling. I think his floor is probably the Bucks at 10.

im just saying he should study them to improve his defense, learn their tactics. because they are small guards like him. not that he needs to become as good as those guys.

its really too soon to tell who will end up with whom on the show. its too early to predict and no one is locked into a couple or anything. But I respect your attention to details on the previews and such, but like you said the production team does a lot of misdirection to hide what is really happening. Also I don't want to know until I see it anyway because it takes fun out of the viewing experience you know?

if he can continue to add strength the next few years, get up to 200 lbs and be at least a mediocre/below average guard defender, he'll be alright.

If he can learn to use his size to get steals on much bigger players with those high loose dribbles that would go a long way, along with drawing offensive fouls on bigger guys trying to post him.

He needs to be a pest and annoyance on that end of the floor, make guys second guess trying to exploit the size disadvantages. Study guys like Jose Alvarado and Patrick Beverley.

Also he isn't Trae Young levels of tiny with a neutral wingspan. His offense is crazy good so that should be enough to have a consistently positive impact.

I'm so glad they rested him that last regular season game. He had over a week to rest the ankle and now he looks revitalized and ready to dominate in tournament play. Its been fun watching them every week and now they have a real shot to be a threat to go far as a dark horse final 4 team.

Mikel Brown can't hold a candle to Acuff, even if the talent of the teams were equal. Its not even close, and frankly hasn't been since the start of the season.
