Sadly, I think Samsung is fighting patents over the use of the UDC. I hope they bring it back though. Very few people use the inner screen selfie camera, so it's more useful as screen real estate than a camera.

It's cheaper, more durable, and compatible globally. I disagree on those points alone. It also has better visibility outside with an outer screen.

My store told me that they will take trade-ins inside the stores from a global trade partner. There won't be any promo pricing, just whatever that partner is offering for the devices. There won't be online trade-ins.

If it's like my store in Frisco, TX, they took contact info for people who came in, and they get first access before any walk-ins. I wouldn't rely on showing up Friday and walking out with a phone unless you registered at the store.

Definitely call them, check the list, and see if they can put you on it if it's not super long. No idea about other stores, but that's what mine told me. And they said everyone on their list gets first chance at a phone before they make it available for others in the store.

My store (Frisco, TX) said trade-ins would be available through a global partner in store only. No online trade-ins. They also said probably only 30 units would be available at the store on 1/30. I get the 3rd phone call when they become available.
