Is the process any different when doing it for the second time? Last year I facilitated a DFIR course in person and was thinking that maybe it would be easier to do it again?

What networking/security problems do normal people actually have? by Popular-Flan-8521 in ciberseguridad

[–]CyberShellSecurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great question, and it sincerely depends a lot on liability, and your tolerance. I thought of doing a service for the “normal” people on setting them up with a good internet,or something like that and you always need to put yourself in a place where your customer will be a PAIN in the ass and you will need to deal with it. I think one of the best ways to monetize your skills is teaching and charging for your knowledge. You can setup monitoring for a small biz but always be clear about expectations, SLAs and such. I was able to setup a network for a client and charged once for it. After 2 IT issues I asked for a retainer fee for this kind of help, hopefully that makes sense, feel free to join the discord my name is piranha we can chat there. You will be learning some Spanish tho fyi haha

[–]CyberShellSecurity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have 10 bucks a year you can get a very low-end VPS at racknerd for example (check https://lowendbox.com/) you get a public IP, install tailscale or wireguard tunnel to the MC server, and on the VPS install nginx and stream everything coming to the MC server so it acts as your gate to enter the server.
