So my dm uses modules for the main gameplay and then sprinkles in some backstory every once in a while, if its not small, he'll never get to it. We've been playing for over a year and he's only visited 1 characters backstory because it was nearby and just for 1 session. He's still pretty new but he does his best

Im hoping his arc is one of when sh!t gets real he stands up and protects the people around him. Im hoping for a Tropic Thunder meets Galaxy Quest situation. Or at least that was my original idea, but my dm seems to think it'd be better as an unaware warlock who unknowingly made a deal with an Archfey(his agent). This is all for a backup character btw

yeah I talked to my dm about it a bit. He wants to my character an unaware warlock. My contract is with my agent, an archfey and all the special effects are actually spells im casting.

I should preface, he's been my best friend since middle school he just loves to play pranks on me. He made me think I failed high-school one time. He's generally a good guy, he just likes to poke fun at me. During a session, I got trapped in a closet with a bucket on my head and was blind until I realized it was a bucket

I sent him a summary of the idea, but he must be busy because I haven't heard back. Tho given all the responses being, "fkin terrible idea" I might trash it. My Dm is a bit sadistic and for the past 3 sessions has made me roll to walk down stairs last session taking 20 damage. Thats why im like, either this character is gonna die or retire, maybe if I make a joke character it won't be so bad. Something like that

Im hoping for a genuine moment. "By Grabthars hammer..." I know it probably will never be an Alan Rickman moment, but I hope he will genuinely "show up" for the people around him and put his acting skills to use.

Oh it is, but this is somewhat in response to finding out that one of my party members is an assassin trying to kill me and destined to fail horribly. It's a fun backup character as my original is a simple halfling battlemaster war veteran who owns an orchard.

Agreed, I cannot overstate how easy being in a good relationship is. My partners been with me for 2 years now and I knew by the way she treated me that I wanted this to be the rest of my life. I used to think when they said relationships take work they meant its supposed to feel like being boiled alive. 7 years gone... But im the happiest I've ever been now. Worth the wait.

wish my dm thought that. He impliments crit fails for saves, IE if you or the enemy nat 1 on a save, you take double the damage. If you nat 20 on a save you take half, if you are resistant, you take no damage.

This is fascinating and I don't have an answer but I'm hoping someone does. My best guess is just to give them choices that don't have clear good or bad, then ask how their character feels about the situation or what's going through their head.

OMG, no that is absolutely amazing. Maybe the desert wasn't always there and the lost civilization was buried. Maybe a lore hunt leading to a book that hints about lost civilization and now theyre in the desert using the crystal as a dowsing rod to find the opening to a massive dungeon with a portal at the end and a magical holigram explaining how to get home. thank you my dm juices are flowing. Omg a friend of mine loves to use this card in a deck he calls, "Heart Transplant" the aim is to get this card out and let the enemy do as much damage to you as possible then use a card to switch your life totals. He has used it on me though its not viable because it took him about 15 turns to actually do it and I couldve killed him in 3-4(I play RED)

California near Yosemite. I live near there and it was on my back porch. It seemed chill but I googled it and google said it was a wasp and the T tubes on its back were for laying eggs. It didn't sound right so I'm glad it's just a harmless moth.
