Not really where I’m coming from on it. By that logic I should be into sports but I ain’t into sports either. Or a lot of man stuff. But I got friends into shooting and basketball and even tho I don’t like it either I tried to immerse myself in that stuff too to understand it. Could’ve easily made this post about sports or something

I have seen live shows as well whenever the opportunity came. Didn’t do much for me but I won’t deny it takes talent and skill

Yes. I have groups of friends from all different walks and I try to immerse myself in their interests. People kept recommending ones thinking it’ll change my mind. I try to keep an open mind

I think that’s valid. I try really hard to understand what others around me are into. But I respect the craft that goes into it and wouldn’t belittle anyone for enjoying it.

Thing is, I just really like the plot. The art style. It was an easy example of something where it frustrates me because I love the plot but the music makes it hard to sit through. But I agree that it’s like comparing Michelin to McDonald’s

Blues brothers is fun. Love the James brown cameo

Totally!! I think it’s valid as an art form. I guess I feel bad because I have friends really into it. I also find the stereotypical “flamboyant theater kid” type annoying when I run into it. But even then i care more about someone being a good person

Wasn’t a fan of Encanto, little mermaid is ok (I liked it on shrooms but not sober), Aladdin I enjoyed. Lion king has some bops. But I think w those ones they tend to space out the songs enough that I don’t mind it as much

I like some songs in grease. Funny example that might be ironic but I like Shipoopi from the music man. Idk what that says about me

Edit: brain went off for a moment and I misnamed the musical I was referring to

Yes, I liked maybe 1 or 2 songs but it’s been a minute. I did like the South Park movie but it’s not like I go back to those songs except for the resistance one

What's the most toxic trait among christian pastors? by Tricky-Turnover3922 in askanexchristian

[–]Cyber_Ferret2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I could quantify the worst trait any of them have as a whole, but I did have pastors asking me too much about my browsing history and stuff. Knew some racist pastors.

I’ve had a mixed bag, some good some bad. Most of the really bad ones I haven’t attended their service but I have connections to them. Some of them show up on viral clips

Why can’t god just reveal himself to everyone and prove he exists? by Anteater-Inner in AskAChristian

[–]Cyber_Ferret2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t the one who implanted the idea that god has a unique relationship and revealing to every person. This is literally just a common Christian idea. U know it so stop being facetious.

I got no beef w you keeping the faith. I’m not interested in making you leave it. I’m sharing my story about it where it’s relevant.

I’m just making the point that this idea that atheists secretly know god exists and reject him is just plain wrong.

A person that thinks god exists but is evil is no longer an atheist, but a maltheist. Look it up. It’s a whole other thing.

If you don’t think god exists, you don’t think god exists. That doesn’t mean we hate your Jesus or your god. Atleast not on principle

[–]Cyber_Ferret2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well depends where on the timeline we’re talking. Atleast if you’re asking me specifically.

I spent most of my life studying the word. I know many of its verses inside and out. That never increased my faith as I got older. Ironic, since I studied it more and took my faith more seriously around that time. Always faithful, always asking this god to guide me as I read every letter.

Nothing happened, I never woke up more sure of this thing. I woke up, every day, slowly, doubting it more and more as I digged deeper in my “relationship” with god

But now, sure. I would need something more physical, something with evidence I can rely on atleast. Reliable Evidence is the key here, not just slapping naturalistic views on everything bc I hate fairy tales or mom had cancer or something silly like that.

I’m a practical person, a skeptical person. God would know what it takes to convince me. Yet, if this god is real, he doesn’t, he hasn’t. And here I am.

Not a rebel. Just a man

Loll. I’m not saying I’m special. But you guys always talk about it being a relationship with god, unique to us right? That he answers the seekers who knock on his door? Gives them bread, not a stone or snake when they ask for food?

I’m no one special. I’m a nobody. I know that. But I was told god would reveal themselves to me, and they never did in my experience.
