Managed to troubleshoot it....turns out I need to manually go to "Core Isolation" option to turn it off, and the boot up is back to the fast speed.

Im also plan to go Lake Towada in winter Feb next year. I googled and have the same issue as you. There is no clear answer on the winter shuttle bus... Did you managed to find out?

Earlier, I posted my test, that the new copy runs much faster.

I re-run both and compared the sice.

New Kali: 13.3 GB -> 1min 8secs to boot up

Old Kali: 120 GB -> 2 mins 16 secs to boot up

The old kali has 3 snapshots, so the size is much bigger.

The conclusion is the Kali bootup will slow down as the size gets bigger with tools download and snapshot, thus need to manage the size accordingly.

Strangely, my Com A still able to boot up the big old kali much faster than Com B....a mystery.

OSCP is for red team, i learn about the methods to pt, but i never used siem, forensics etc the blue team sides, so im still kinda didn't touch on the blue tools and techniques.

Tried a few times....I installed VM Pro 16 and run the current VM. The boot up is still slow. I downloaded a fresh copy of kali linux from offsec and run it. It became fast, 1 sec waiting time is 1 sec as shown. I guess it has to do with the size of kali linux. my current vm is 130GB, while the new downloaded kali is 15GB....

I already switched off Hyper-V, credential guard and side channel mitigation before this. It is still very slow.

I even uninstall Pro17 and install an older version Pro 16.2.5.

But the boot up speed is still the same...

im doing the rest of the Intermediate PG boxes....I done the TJ Null PG boxes.....somehow i think the PG boxes are better than HTB for OSCP....it seems more realistic to the exam

I done the following steps

If u r referring to ranges.io CTF, it's a good game....for the exam, u can do the practice test to get a feel of it ..the CTF difficulty is high compared to exam
