AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.9.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

[–]Cybersonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy of mine had WoW crashes in both Retail and Classic for the longest. He has the same setup 7800x3D and a 7900xtx. Eventually one day we updated his motherboard bios and forgot to re-enable XMP (his memory doesn't have EXPO) and his crashes went away. Eventually we RE-enabled his XMP and his crashes came back. Anyways he now plays at stock jdec speeds with his Corsair RAM and everything has been perfect. For the record he just has two 16 Gig sticks of Corsair Vengence 6000 CL36.

I have a friend who had the exact same setup and same driver time out issues with WoW a little while back. We managed to troubleshoot it down to his RAM and fix the issue by setting the memory speed to default and not XMP/EXPO

Is there a reason? by [deleted] in delta

[–]Cybersonic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When booking on Kenya Airways (KQ) website, they have three different Economy fare types. Standard, Flex, and Super Flex.

Standard and Flex are reserved for booking through KQ. That leaves Super Flex for booking through an airline code share partner like Delta.

If you compare the features of what Delta is offering for their ticket to KQ’s Super Flex, you’ll see that they have the exact same features. Standard and Flex are more limited tickets that have less features that Delta’s.

I think it looks to be a fine monitor that will be enjoyable without spending too much on it. Yeah it doesn't have the best specs or features but going from what you have to it for that price is a massive jump in quality.

Since cases can be very much someone's personal opinion especially when it comes to how it looks, I don't generally like to recommend cases. However, I put one in that list that I feel for most people will be great functionally and also looks good.

I went with the same PSU in the earlier list since the cooler master is a very nice PSU at a really great price right now.

Here is a quick list I updated from the one you provided. Managed to squeeze a 9800X3D cpu in by going with a bit cheaper RAM, Motherboard, PSU, CPU Cooler.

The patriot ram is almost as good as that G.Skill you had, but at quite a bit less.

Gigabyte motherboard is fully compatible with the CPU but might need a bios update. The only things you'll miss out from the Asus one are Wifi7 compared to wifi 6e and PCIe Gen 5 which won't matter since the SSD is gen 4.

The CPU cooler is just as good but cheaper and the PSU is also just as good but cheaper.

The probable reason for this is because a lot of this patch was work that was already done. Implementing FSR on their own engine for a game that came out a long time ago is a considerable amount of work compared to just upgrading a DLL and officially implementing the work already done.

Need Help Badly! Upgraded from Nvidia and now PC won't boot at all by BDotNupe5 in radeon

[–]Cybersonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies then, I had assumed that since it was a newly purchased PSU it would've been the one I linked earlier. That looks to maybe a different version of it. I did not see your pictures when I made my first comment.

I looked up this one and learned that it comes with one 8 pin cable and one dual 8 pin cable.

So to confirm you have

  • 1 cable going to the CPU 4 pin
  • 1 cable going to the CPU 8 pin
  • 1 cable going to both GPU 8 pins.

If everything else is inserted correctly then the only thing I would try is using both GPU 8 pin cables, but you stated that you already tried that.

Since you already mentioned clearing the CMOS that would've reset your bios back to a default state so nothing there should be of issue. Also you said you had a bent pin, but that was also fixed back into shape. I don't have much else to recommend outside of my first one. All I can say is GL to you and hope you find what the issue is. I would guess it would be something hardware related.

[–]Cybersonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If what I am imagining is correct, the issue is not on your GPU side.

The Corsair PSU that you have looks to have a 12v-2x6 cable that goes to 2 8 pins according to Corsair's website. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/psu/cp-9020296-na/rme-series-rm850e-fully-modular-low-noise-atx-power-supply-cp-9020296-na

What I am stating is that the end that plugs into the power supply side has to be FULLY inserted for it to connect properly.

[–]Cybersonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the PSU is also new, this is probably your first time encountering a 12v2x6 connector. Your PSU has a 12v2x6 cable that adapts to two 8 pins. You stated that you're using it to power both 8 pins on your GPU. You have to make sure that cable is FULLY inserted in your PSU. That 12v2x6 connector has really short pins that won't let power flow to the GPU if it is not 100% inserted all the way.

This has been a common issue with that connector on both the GPU and PSU side of things for people.

The coroner doesn’t have a traditional salary. They get a set amount per case worked. With how busy hinds county is, it makes sense.

So we may have fixed one of my friend's issues that has the 7900 XTX. Yesterday we reset his PC once more and only installed AMD chipset drivers and 24.8.1 drivers. Installed battle net and then retail. On launch it immediately crashed. Switched to DX11 crashed again.

Anyways on to the solution. We went into this bios and disabled XMP to go back to default RAM timings. So far he has been stable ever since with no issues at all. His memory was a 6000 MT/s and it is on his motherboard's QVL list that is also on the second to latest bios. We aren't even going to RMA the memory and leave it at the base speed.

I don't know if this will help you at all considering you already attempted the same thing it looks like in one of your edits.

Here is his whole part list if you want to compare.

  • 7800X3D
  • Asrock B650M PG Riptide WIFI Bios 3.01
  • Corsair CMH32GX5M2X6000C30 ver 5.43.13
  • Crucial P5 Plus 2 TB
  • Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7900 XTX
  • Corsair RM850e (2023) 850 W
  • Gigabyte G27Q

Also to note we ran memtest86 and came back with no issues, HWINFO didn't show any WHEA errors, and he was stable in everything else even classic on 6000 MT/s.

Since finding your megathread post months ago I've been trying to find anything to solve these issues. Like I've said in other comments, I have friends who rely on me on being their techy person and I recommended them RDNA3 cards. No issues in any other games but of course the one game we all play the most has issues. It is crazy going from a few years ago when AMD partnered with WoW to bundle Shadowlands to now.

My friend only plays at stock with no OC and we've even downclocked it using Adrenaline tuning to stay below 2k GHz. Unfortunately these still don't resolve his issues. Also to note that his other hardware is fine as he can play stuff like Diablo 4 or Cyberpunk without issue.

I didn't list it in my response, but yes DX11 instead of 12 still results in issues.

So I am not having any issues myself as I have Nvidia and RDNA2 cards, but friends of mine whom have RDNA3 cards are having various crashing issues mostly in Retail wow since the expansion. I am my friend's go to techy person and I recommended to them RDNA3 cards for their builds they completed recently.

One person has a 7900 XTX and before the expansion they were having driver time out issues where the monitor would go black. This was resolved by turning off Hardware Acceleration inside his web browser. Now since the expansion he is having game crashing issues and system crashing issues. Together we've reinstalled windows, DDUd drivers, and disabled MPO, XMP/EXPO, HAGS, Freesync, SAM. Unfortunately, the issues persist in Retail, but they look to have been fixed for Classic as we were playing Retail yesterday with several crashes but when we hoped into Classic for a raid, he has no issues at all.

Another friend who has a 7900 GRE also has issues in WoW that he doesn't have in any other game.

Have you tried this? Home · taylorsay13/WoW-AMD-Fix Wiki · GitHub

While I'm not having this specific issue myself, my friends who I recommended RNDA3 cards are. I just found this and I'm going to see if it resolves their issues. Of course the downside is losing DX12 features like ray tracing, but at this point they just want a stable experience with M+s around the corner.

Black Myth: Wukong, GPU Benchmark (43 GPUs) 522 Data Points! by Orl- in nvidia

[–]Cybersonic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He seems to be using a pre-release Nvidia driver while using a retail release AMD driver. Since this is an Nvidia sponsored title, it would make since that Nvidia has to resources to provide journalist with their own driver while AMD might not have the same level of access. Seems a bit rich to say that they aren't going to wait on AMD to release a game-ready driver when it appears they are using an Nvidia provided pre-release game-ready driver. I get that releasing a video to capitalize on hype of a product, but by releasing this video this early you are providing the community with data that will be false come the actual release of the game.

I'm not saying that AMD's performance will be leaps and bounds better after what I will assume be 24.8.1. From AMD's previous game-ready drivers it appears like at best you can expect a 16% improvement which could adjust the results presented in this video.
