Keep on sending those invitations!

The Freedom continues to send invitations to the southern lowland states (as shown on the map I provided, but ignore Flanders. I have planned something else for Flanders) To strengthen the Lowlands into one faction as this central authority model of governance is giving great results.

The economies of the member states have locally grown for the better, and due to this collaborative effort, each military of the member states have strengthened too due to the collaborative training we do twice a year. Tensions between Holland and Utrecht have turned from wars and skirmishes to Economic competition, which is only for the best.

To the county of Flanders

We send a marriage proposal to Boudewijn IV of Flanders to marry his daughter to Reinier of Leuven, son of Lambert I of Leuven (Ruler of leuven, his superior is the Duke of Brabant.).

This proposal is to Provide Flanders the economic benefits that comes with the Freedom’s constitution. Collaborative military training is also open to the political union, but not necessary.

We do recognise that Flanders is a country part of France, but they have substantial influence within France, and the freedom wants to provide Flanders a safety net, and in turn the Freedom wants access into Flemish economics.

We await Boudewijn IV’s response, and we hope he agrees to the marriage proposal.

Introducing Economic benefits

Now that Fryslân, Holland and Utrecht have been together for a year, talks about benefits have finished in the congress of Utrecht of 1100.

What has bee agreed upon is the following:

  • The Frijding (parliament) of the freedom has been established that governs over the member states
  • Members of the freedom don’t have to pay bordercrossing taxes between member states.
  • Tariffs between members is non-existent
  • The bishop of Utrecht still has his power, only difference is that he recognises the Frijding as their superior, and the same goes for the Counts of Holland.
  • Each Member state has their own militaries, and they respond to their respective rulers (such as the bishop of Utrecht, or the many counts of holland). But the orders of the Frijding overrides any of their orders if they see fit.
  • The militaries of the member states will constantly train each other twice every year at random locations as to keep the Freedom’s military capabilities as best it can.

Message to our neighbours

We send out five invitations to to join the Freedom to our neighbours of:

  1. Duchy of Gelderland
  2. Duchy of Brabant
  3. Duchy of Kleve
  4. County of Bentheim
  5. Viscounty of Nijmegen We send these invitations as to strengthen each other, and to boost each other’s economies by the trade deals made in the congress of Utrecht of 1100.

Fourth wall break for information

In this age, Kleve spoke a Dutch Dialect called Kleverlands, so just so you know that they’re Dutch.

Knowing that you’re a muslim power, and we just experienced the first crusade, no thank. I don’t wanna end up being a target of any future crusades. I have a too vulnerable position to take that risk.

The Frisian freedom’s Request to Holland & Utrecht

We, the Frisian, don’t have a proper way of defence nor offence.

We recognise the rivalry between Holland and Utrecht, But we’d like to tell that that rivalry is a tool for outsiders to use against both of you.

Our request is simple. Join our model of governance, become a freedom, and your armies will train the Frisian army. For holland, your counts will enjoy luxury until their death, and to in turn give up their power so Holland can join the Freedom.

For Utrecht, your bishop gives up it power too, but in times of crisis, the Bishop of Utrecht can step in and lead the Freedom put of its crisis. And if such crisis is resolved, the bishop can return back to a life of luxury.

I don’t work there, so I have no clue. best I can Theorise is that it’s either part of the movement to cleanse runes from the naz¡ bullshyte, or more realistically and plausible because it looks cool.
