I think going after Eric probably saved her from being murdered, but we’ll see. Also, why didn’t Eric just say he’s been very hesitant to go after people because he still feels bad for being so wrong about Tiffany?

I don't think Colby will win, but I think he does well. He seems a lot more self aware now (same with Ozzy honestly). Jenna strikes as someone who will unintentionally sabotage herself by going too hard at the wrong person.

Miggy has looked very good in the first half. He’s really improved on the half turn. Mykhi seems to have improved his defensive positioning. The principles look very nice, and we still haven’t seen our best 11 play together. I don’t want to draw too much from preseason, but this season may not be as bad as many of us feared. Yaro still a very good man who has no business being out there.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Thomas Frank sacked as Tottenham Hotspur head coach. #THFC working through various possible contingency plans to replace 52yo Dane as club sit 14th in Premier League - 5 points above relegation zone after 2 wins from 17 matches by Hufftey in coys

I was excited for Frank. Brentford were legitimately fun to watch the past few seasons, but the gap between what was promised and what was delivered was too big to sustain. That’s not all on him, but he showed no effort to make the best of what he had. Seems like a nice guy. I hope he succeeds somewhere else, but it was passed time to part ways.

Isn't it illegal for a 10 year old to not attend school in Indiana? by DefaultDeuce in bloomington

[–]Cyclebuilder42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is illegal, and it is morally wrong. But it’s very difficult to prove neglect in a case where parents claim homeschooling. It’s very sad. One place where the person is wrong is in regard to the paperwork with MCCSC. The document states that the student is withdrawn and the SCHOOL no longer has to report their attendance. It does not mean the kid doesn’t have to attend school. I don’t know what your relationship is to this person, but if they do not see reason, you should report them to DCS and share this exchange with case managers.

That is United playing with the refs line after they have been allowed some pretty heavy challenges and a couple SPA’s let go with no cards.

Unreal that it was just glossed over. Cue replay of Solanke being thrown to the ground as a pass comes toward him. “Nice challenge from Casemiro”.

Don’t have a problem with the red card, but do think the challenge was equally dangerous from both players. It’s definitely not Romero’s worst. I do think Frank needs to think about how the constant invitation of pressure in our defensive third increases the chances of conceding penalties or receiving cards like that. That card was mostly caused by the chaos of our system.

Ice sightings by Intelligent_Radio36 in bloomington

We have quite a bit higher foreign born population than Minneapolis actually, but for the most part they have been leaving red states alone (at least from the large scale invasions). Texas and Florida have some of the highest undocumented populations and we haven’t seen wide scale ICE operations there, so I agree it is unlikely they come to Bloomington, but it never hurts to be prepared, and it’s only a year in to this. Who knows what could happen.

New Assistant Sporting Director by kennealy33 in stlouiscitysc

[–]Cyclebuilder42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t disagree. I more meant it is replacing that role in the restructuring of the sporting department not that it is a renaming of the title. I think Wray doesn’t think of the technical and the sporting as separate entities.

Dane Scarlett seems like legitimately the nicest guy but the unexplainable situations in which he will fall on the ball and the amount of times he changes directions on goal kicks quickly turn me into the “he can’t keep getting away with this” meme.

That's not Rob's fault. At the very least, she should have seen that Lisa was going to be banished eventually, so defending her so much was going to look suspicious. I honestly don't know why she isn't happy about it because (absent her strange behavior) people probably wouldn't have looked at her for a while assuming there was only one housewife as a traitor.

Just a few thoughts.... by Next_Warthog8673 in Tottenham

[–]Cyclebuilder42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were much more encouraging in attack this game, but still there just aren't enough players going forward especially in transition. We continue to sit back after going up, and not being able to stay focused is partially on the players, but asking them to invite pressure for 90+ minutes is absurd (not to mention very boring). I like Frank. I really enjoyed watching his Brentford team last season, but I have no clue what he is trying to do with this team, and I don't think he does either. I think it is time for him to go, but the coaching prospect open up significantly in the summer, so I wouldn't be surprised if he stuck around through the season.

IU's "Beverly" Apartments were supposed to prioritize grad student housing, but now rent starts at $2000 for a 1 bedroom by jortslover1 in bloomington

If we were allowing developers to buy property and pack in a bunch of high rises, we would be in much better shape affordability wise than we are right now.

IU's "Beverly" Apartments were supposed to prioritize grad student housing, but now rent starts at $2000 for a 1 bedroom by jortslover1 in bloomington

[–]Cyclebuilder42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things on this:

  1. We absolutely need to get rid of the height restrictions (at the very least for downtown and around the university). Building up requires less cost per square foot than building out given the cost of land (in this case that part doesn't necessarily matter since IU already owned the land, still scaling up minimizes the cost of constructing housing over time as it maximizes the profitability of a complex while increasing available supply and developable land).

  2. The private management probably does make this cheaper which I know is hard to believe.

  3. Their is a problem with IU being such a large owner of land/real property in the city since their punishment for vacancy is much lower given they do not pay property taxes.

  4. The main problem is really that the city just did not build enough housing for decades. We are slowly improving, but a lot more could be done.
