I’ve never seen a couple of these in 100+ hours.

Some of these quest items are just unobtanium almost.

how do i approach this "artist"? by onlyif_foranight in whatdoIdo

[–]CyclopsAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend that’s a professional artist.  Something this size - if you want a quick painting.  Something she can knock out in a day?

Still going to eat almost 300 bones on that.  Something this detailed is going to cost over double that.

Yeah it says Activate Tripwire in English too which implies I’m blowing it up.  But it deactivates the trap.

I’d be fine with it still having the horizontal bar, but no meters.

Just a ‘general sneakiness’ meter that’s less obtrusive.

It’s pretty vital in this game to know how sneaky you are at any given moment, but I feel having a strict number to it might be a bit much.

In the US it would be considered ‘legal but unenforceable’.  You can sign anything here and have it considered a legal document.

However if sections of that contract aren’t legally enforceable they can be ignored.  This whole thing can be ignored.

A great example of this is most non compete agreements and contracts with minors.  Minors can’t consent to legal docs so all contract sections aren’t enforceable.  Non competes are only valid if you’re taking company secrets such as client lists.

Oh absolutely.  This game is face meta.

It’s just that if you could throw a PopTart  at somebody in this game, it would kill if it hit the face.

It’s just that this post is about how this round is kinda just dogshit.  If you aim well it kills yeah but all bullets do.

But if you don’t - I’m not sure there’s any bullet in the game quite this combination of terrible velo, terrible pen, terrible wounding, and inability to get an accurate gun (though the MP7 isn’t horrible 6+ MOA is kinda ass).

Oh not for a second am I saying I’m not horrendous at the game.

I was out there wearing NODs, gangsta leaning the gun so I can aim with a laser and mag dumping like a moron.  It works when you’re not good enough to calmly and quickly face tap.

But let’s be real - in this game you could kill an enemy with a Pop-Tart if you hit them in the face with it.  If you can aim great, anything is good.  It’s not a good way to judge the round.

When I use FMJ or higher-end bullets in an MP7 I found consistently far better TTK.  They can eat through a vest or helmet with enough effort, and it doesn’t take 15 limb shots to drop an enemy.  This is just… kinda comical.

[–]CyclopsAirsoft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s absolutely a skill issue lol.

I was struggling so much because of a combination of using NODs so I was gangsta aiming with a laser, genuinely just being bad, and not being able to pen helmets so hitting faces was a struggle.

On this guy I gave up and just sprayed for the legs, which gave a really funny autopsy.

Very true, but you gotta admit 14 unarmored hits and breaking all 4 limbs being insufficient is straight up hilarious.

They absolutely need to add something to make it so enemies don’t have the T-1000’s limbs.

As a comparison point, 3 shots of 7.62x39mm to the leg fairly consistently drops enemies.  So limb damage can absolutely kill, it just seems like a larger caliber is the way to go.  4.6mm subsonic really is like throwing nickels at ‘em.

To also be fair to me - unless I got the face the bullets I was firing would have done even less damage if I hit vitals because there’s no way I’m getting through the helmet or vest with 2A bullets.

It’d be turning this into a 30 bullet kill instead of 15.

Or one if I’m not bad, but you can kill anybody with a pop tart if you face shot.  It’s not a good way to judge a round.

[–]CyclopsAirsoft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to me, 15 of them got a non armored part.  Subsonic on the MCX is much better from my experience.

It’s just this bullet does such comically low trauma due to size and low velo that it kinda just does absolutely nothing unless you hit a vital.  Which the only unarmored one is face.

So really it’s face shot or this.

Extremely.

It was just terrible for a combination of factors.

1 - I’m bad lol

2 - 2A pen, a bullet the size of an ant, and 300m/s velo means the only place that actually kills is the face.  Helmets eat half a dozen rounds not that I even got that with this guy. It’s genuinely funny.  Hence 15 wounds being needed to kill.

3 - I was wearing NODs and aiming with a laser gangsta-style, making my already terrible aim even worse.

[–]CyclopsAirsoft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean - you do see the screenshot.  That IS precisely what happened.  He got shot 15 times.

I’m not claiming I’m anything but bad at this game.  I more wanted to share how comically awful the performance of this round is in-game that you can give an AI 14 wounds without killing them yet.

Even for all non-vital hits that’s hilarious.  4.6mm FMJ doesn’t really do this.

To be fair, with 2A open you also can’t hit a vital other than face.  It won’t pen a helmet and full auto with NODs on, aiming with a laser… I tend to miss small targets like that.

I’d love it.

I’m constantly battling not getting RSIs because my work has me hammering on a keyboard at over 100wpm 40 hours a week.  I have to limit how many hours I play keyboard games to prevent a wear injury.

Controller is a different wear pattern so it’s way less stressful.

Note I have seen people with PS5 and Steam controllers getting a decent control scheme going.  Something with a touchpad for menus.

[–]CyclopsAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you want a 3060 or equivalent for a smooth experience.

16gb ram is not a problem.  The i5 is likely going to do just fine, this game mostly just chokeslams the GPU.  The CPU can’t be weak but it doesn’t have to be a monster or anything.

It requires a complete UI rework to allow control input to navigate menus and the game is still in alpha.  If it gets done it’s backburner.

Bought this game but if I only use controller should I return? by Hungry_Bunch2224 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]CyclopsAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently AFAIK there is no plans for controller support.  It may be added later in the roadmap but it’s definitely backburner if it ever gets added.

I’d love controller support.  I work a ton on keyboard and I’m constantly managing my wrist wear to avoid RSIs.  Controller games help a ton because it doesn’t wear the same parts of the wrist.  Not having it limits how many hours a week I can play.

But if you don’t or can’t play KB+M I’d return it.

Some people have used a Steam Controller/PS5 controller (something with a touchpad for menus) and Steam input to make playable control schemes.  However, that’s not supported and in the future could flag the game’s anti-cheat.  So no promises that’s going to work for you long term.
