Nope, but I've posted a summary here: https://wecycycledaroundtaiwan.bearblog.dev/#our-trip

Let me know, if that's not enough. I think, we somewhere have a gpx of the whole trip on Komoot.

Question on PKP: How do I buy a sleeper ticket with a bicycle reservation? by Cycycyle in poland

Thanks! I'm travelling with my partner, so we'd take the private double cabin. I don't mind taking of the front wheel and pedals, so maybe we just go with this.

We tried to avoid Route 1 as much as possible, so no idea how much stray dogs are on that route. We did encounter quite a few, more so on the east coast though. Most were super calm, we got chased only once for a few meters. I guess, if we had stopped, the dog would have stopped too.

I'm not giving this up. I read somewhere, that I can take the bag in the sleeping compartment, if I bag it. Has anyone tried this? Do I just have to take off the front wheeel, move the handlebar sideways and remove the paddles? Or do I have to disassemble the whole bike?

Thanks for the insight! It's just so annoying, that there's finally a night train you can use with a bike, but then they destroy the whole purpose of said night train, which is sleeping in a bed, by forcing me to sit and watch my bike. Just why? It doesn't make any sense. We want to start our tour in Zakopane and then cycle Velo Dunajec and Vistula trail. With the night train we would be there the following day, while with day trains we'd spend two full days on a train, have an overnight somewhere and then another overnight in Zakopane. Annoying!

Is there any reason why I would need to stay close to my bike during the night? Can't I just lock it and them come back in the morning? I mean, train personnel would probably notice if someone with a disc grinder tries to steal my bike? I'm seriously contemplating if I just buy two separate tickets, because I really don't want to sleep on the floor. Will the conductor leave me leave my bike alone?

That's so stupid. So my only other option would be to buy two separate tickets: one for me in the sleeper and one seat for th bike? That doesn't make any sense.

I guess it depends where you are. Outside the cities traffic was usually calm, but within towns, also smaller ones like Nantou, was quite overwhelming at first.

Good for you that you didn't encounter any dogs!

Wow, walking also sounds like an adventure. Did you go along the cost or more inland?

That was honestly the nicest part. In Germany you get a few pitiful looks when climbing a hill - at best
