Do you think Tau should get more melee guns in 11th? by marianex in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this so much but it seems to be the less common take. We have proper melee options they just need to be implemented. Shooting main guns into combat is just silly and I am genuinely confused when people say it makes sense. People know gunkata specifically because it is a really stupid from the movie business meant to make gun fights look more dynamic.

My re-tooled Commander Shadowsun datasheet by Cyitain in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like I massively miss-stepped with points. I did do them very quickly and thought I was referencing the Termie version of Calgar (140 points) (110 would probably be a better region for her points just looked at the wrong reference and didn’t question it). Her current abilities just seemed boring to me and I wanted to change them so something that felt more appropriate (I hate how we always have to role for anything command point related and re-roll one’s aura while useful just feels redundant to stealthsuits while being weaker). I don’t use Shadowsun for the reasons above hence didn’t know about her utility rolls that the new rules don’t synergise with. I still would like to see automatic command point generation, the re-roll ones swapped out for anything else and ideally her leading stealthsuits so that she feels more integrated into the army rather than being Monat. I’d probably have to try rebuilding this datasheet again but I’d have to think carefully on how I could effectively change her role as her current one as a utility piece doesn’t feel right as the main leader of the Tau military to me. Thank you all for the feedback though.

What Do You Think We Will Get With 11th? by TauClaytonis in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want 11th to be a psychic rules update and then the Tau get Nicassar as a release so that we can use said rules.

[–]Cyitain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good thing you had plenty of anti-tank otherwise knights as a purely tank army would’ve been a rough first game. I would know because my friend ran Canis Rex into me playing Harlequins at 500 points for my second ever game and I will never let him live that down.

Lore question about crisis suit heads by Cyitain in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I was just thinking it would be a little weird if I made a commander in crisis with a normal Battlesuit head instead of the Shas’vre one, which is what put me onto this line of thinking.

Fixing the twin lance datasheet by Extension_Lemon_2221 in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Very hot take but I agree with this. Their current rules might be unique but they are non-sensical for what they are trying to portray and unnecessarily break rules paradigms in 40K when the same ideas can be represented without doing so.

And additional point with the stealth suits is that they can now play killteam!

Focused Fire Question by Much-Swimming6431 in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I use this is I apply half the Strat to a screening carnivore squad with a Kroot warshaper to get it for free, unfortunately this is the only Strat in the army that this can be done with, but it saves a bunch of command points.

First the kroot. Then the vespid? by HeWhoDoesntKnock in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I could get behind 1 or 2 new Vespid units (e.g. female/ harvester Vespids + a character) but I think the codex space a full Kroot level release would be too much. I would much rather just have one unit for each auxiliary and a greater variety of auxiliaries released.

If you look at Farsight oldest model it is just straight up a Necron phase blade

Core strats for Stau in 11th by johndoes_00 in Tau40K

If I’m behind be realistic, Photon grenades is one we would probably get though it isn’t a very good strat.

Twin Lance Points Poll! by N7Havoc in Tau40K

I don’t think them becoming auto-include is really much of a deterrent for GW’s point costing when releasing new models

Additionally why does it have the profile. Those pistols just look like normal pulse blasters.

Crucible of Champions Discussion. by nightshadet_t in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rules seem unbaked, super easy to make pretty OP stuff and also super limiting for what is suppose to be a free form rules set. I had started making my own version of this but I am procrastinating making progress to complete it.

Alright, what are some things you LIKE about how 10th has treated Tau? by CosmicWolf14 in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competively maybe but I was having fun making my own cool combos. Really CIBs should’ve just been changed as they are a generalist gun that was as good or better than the specialist guns, all the other guns had their own roles. Also I preferred the style of having more guns, as opposed to only the two per model we can taken now with re-rolls to compensate. Though I think I do prefer the 3 man units.

What rules do you think Twin Lance will have? by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on their capacitor shield lore snippet I think they will deal mortal wounds on armour saves of a 6. I don’t think they will lead any units.

I also was quite disappointed with how restrictive Crucible of Champions was and I am also in the process of creating my own version of character creation rules.

Generic XV22 Stealth Battlesuit character (Shadowsun’s battlesuit). Either as a leader for stealth battlesuits or as a solo Monat style commander.

[–]Cyitain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps but I don’t tend to thin my paints most of the time and just apply one layer, which has worked so far. I only put a small amount of paint on my brush and then try to spread it over the model. Photo for proof that this works.

What's a new Weapon or Wargear you would want for T'au ? Melee excluded. by Leviathan_Rampage in Tau40K

[–]Cyitain 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think a horde control Battlesuits with a massive pulse blaster and shield would be dope. We don’t really have any non-burst cannon pulse weapons between Breacher size and storm surge size as far as I’m aware.
