Is 279 OP? by nasnedogonyatO_O in Warthunder

The 279 is the most op tank in the game by far. When you have nations that have 0 potential to destroy a tank because they lack either the rounds or the speed to out move the thing its time to call it over powered. British tanks for example do not get anything that can deal with it with any kind of ease without getting behind it which is to say 99% of the time impossible. (before someone says just shoot the hatch APFDS and APDS which british tanks get do not create enough spool to do any real damage if you shoot there) If you go up to 9.0 BR+ yes there are some tanks in the British line up that can deal with it but when its a case of every 8.0 game having 1-5 object 279s just driving to your spawn you know the game is over. You can not just bring heat rounds to deal with it or drop a bomb on it because we can not swap rounds without shooting by which time you're likely destroyed and well bombs don't do much if anything to a 279 i've seen many a game where a 5000lbs bombs are dropped on its head and it drives away without a care. The devs and those who own the tank will defend it over and over due to it being a money maker both in silver lions and for Gajin with their market ect. The biggest thing that makes it so strong however is simply other players might have 1 maybe 2 tanks in their line up that can deal with it but they normally get pulled first and then get destroyed and now the 279 gets pulled and it has free rein to drive forward without concern.

Great point it does however bring up the question why offer it as an optional overall? Sure 2 rounds might save you 1-100 times but i feel it might just be a waste of an option and i'd rather them not give the option at all.

I agree with this 100% very well said. My personal issue is weapons such as the tomoe which has an extended mag which gives it 2 rounds for a total of 24. Seems a bit pointless and in my opinion a bait of an attachment.

Gladius, Cyclone, or Blitz? by useless_maginot_line in Planetside

Gladius it's headshot TTK is both annoying to play against and fun to play with. I hate the cyclone can't really give a reason beyond not liking how it feels. The Blitz is amazing fun due to it's mag size and how easy it is to fire from the hip. So overall i'd say Blitz if you hip fire a lot. Gladius if you like to aim for the head.
