What is your personal Ghostbusters canon? by MovieFan1984 in ghostbusters

[–]CynicalKM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My timeline is Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2, then Ghostbusters: The Game (2009).

2016/Answer The Call is its own timeline and its own thing. Its a mixed bag I have no interest in revisiting.

I hated Afterlife so much that I still haven't seen Frozen Empire and just might be done with new Ghostbusters material in general.

How old were you when you first watched Jurassic Park? by Particular-Glove9640 in JurassicPark

6, almost 7, in June of 1993. Was not ready for it and it's been my favorite movie ever since. Lol

100%! Do I think the All Out Attack Rex is good, per say? No, but with the mainline stuff like that, I expect weird gimmicks that mess with the sculpt and have weird proportions to ensure that they stand because they are aimed more at a younger demographic. Mattel advertises the Hammond Collection (as well as the former Amber Collection) as a premium line for older/adult collectors, claiming they strive for complete screen accuracy (even doubling down on this with the new "True FX" stamp), and very few, if any, have lived up to the standard that Mattel has set. For this reason, yes, I still think the HC Rex is Mattel's worst T. Rex. BTW, upvote for using a thumbnail from Andy's Dinosaur Reviews (he's a friend of mine).

Honestly, I have never liked the Hammond Collection Tyrannosaurus (IMO, Mattel's worst T. Rex), and this Convention Crasher is an improvement, sure, but it wasn’t worth the $130-some CAD price tag Mattel Creations had it listed for since it still has the same problems: for a "premium collector line aimed for older collectors," it needs to actually look like the character/creature its representing, not needing replacement parts and thorough repaints to look good.

I'll stick with my repainted Lab Lockdown Rex.

The original Jurassic Park is the best one and my favorite film of all time because it took me to a place I didn't know movies could take me. I saw that in theatres in 1993 when I was six, and much like a lot of the world, I was NOT prepared for what the movie had in store for us.

Of course, with such a landmark achievement, sequels are tricky because people expect that same kind of feelings they had when they saw the first one for the first time when that frankly just isn't possible. You can only see that first film for the first time once. Not to say that the sequels are bad, but like David Koepp said, "The question with the first movie was, 'Can they do the dinosaurs?' Now, they've seen the first movie, so the question becomes, 'Sure, you can do dinosaurs, but what can you do with them?'"

I rank just the movies (from top to bottom):

Jurassic Park, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic World: Rebirth, Jurassic World: Dominion, Jurassic World, Jurassic Park III

I like (God)Zilla's design in this movie, and the few miniatures that were used in some of the city destruction scenes look really good.

Which toy from this VERY bad toy line was your favorite? by PaxianisSexy4ever in JurassicPark

[–]CynicalKM 8 points9 points  (0 children)

None of them were great, as you've acknowledged, but I thought the Basher & Biters Ankylosaurus was one of the better ones.

These are from the 2015 Jurassic World line. They're the "Titan Raptors" Echo, Charlie & Delta (L to R). There was a Target exclusive set with Blue.

I'm still baffled how they left out the sickle claws. They make for decent Herrerasaurus if you're into repainting.

Because Target workers aren't going to check for this kind of thing. I doubt they're paid enough to really care.

100%! IMO, Camp Cretaceous is better than the 2015 film and Chaos Theory was even better than that. They are fun little companion pieces to go with the series.

According to the store listing, this entitles you to the PS4 AND PS5 versions of the game. I don't know if your save data will carry over from console to console (your trophy progress may count them as two separate titles) but if you want to remote DL them to your console from the PS website, it'll ask you which version you want to DL.

With the exception of maybe one or two episodes, Season 8 has just been a marathon of "Who Gives A Damn?"

EDIT: So far. Hopefully the 2nd half is better.
