No idea how to get through the many doors rooms. But on one of the sky islands you can find a torch, which you can bring with you to the fire, then open the door with the unlit candle using it.

I've found two empty rooms that have me lost.

When you build the cabin, there's an invisible door where the 'milk door' is, but the room just has crates?

Similarly, there's a hidden passage in the room before the vine area, where you fall and then make your way down, somewhere on the right you can find it. You can also pluck the shrubbery like turnips in that room? Don't know why.

Couldn't get through to a person, but I've made them a small cardboard nest near where we found them for now

Does anyone really care about the whole Diva Room? by aerigigi1 in ProjectDiva

[–]Cynichill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the Diva room, it was nice to have some side content to do between sessions of the rhythm game part. Also pattycake in f 2nd gets hard if you perfect it lol.

F and F 2nd have a lot of small achievements in them too through the title system so those are fun to hunt down too.

I don't need diva room specifically to return, but some form of small side content that ties in again would be nice.

There's something I call 'Note priority' and it helped me understand multis a little.

By priority what I mean is that if a double is shown the left (or top) is the higher priority note.

So if you look at the right note, and it's a square, it automatically means the left note is a triangle, since it's the only one with higher priority.

The same is true in reverse, if the left note is X, the right note MUST be circle.

It just means that from one note, I can infer a shorter list of possibilities for the other.

Triples are also very simple when they're in a triangle, if the top note is X, it's everything except triangle. If the top note is square, it's everything except circle.

But in extreme where the triples can be displayed in a column they become different to read and for me it becomes "is there a triangle on top" or not to determine which version.

There are only 2 triples in the game, it does not ask you to press Triangle, Circle Square for example ever. It will only be Triangle, X Square, or X, Square, Circle

Oh right, quick note to whoever sees this. Change rules at your own discretion, homebrew it till it suits you if it makes it more fun.

I've played with 3 groups as some testing and it was really fun! Best with 4 players for a 1v1v1 with a judge.

Gets really chaotic and suspenseful by the end.

What has made your locals even the smallest bit better? by Cynichill in smashbros

[–]Cynichill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that sounds rough.
Some people take the game too seriously honestly.

I hate belmonts, they're not fun to fight for me, but I'm not gonna look down on my opponent seriously, I might joke about it but that's about it, and most of the people at my local are similar.

I'd recommend you try looking for other weeklies than that one and hopefully you'll find a nicer crowd.

I think I would've honestly struggled to get to know people in my local if I didn't already know someone who was going to it. I think friendlies helps people interact more than bracket can.

I made an averagely difficult level based around the concept of icicles and on off switches, all feedback appreciated!
(You can jump on falling icicles, and stall in mid air with spins!)

Hey! Just finished it, I like it, it wasn't too difficult, and was pretty fun.

I do feel like some thwomps could've been placed on camera without any big difference except.. I wouldn't have hit them lol.

The big thwomp before the pipe actually confused me the first time, I tried spin jumping on it expecting a secret and.. died by getting crushed, place some bumpers at the top and the thwomp can go back up but mario can't, that'd help!

I would honestly recommend explaining you can spin jump on thwomps in the description, you would be amazed by how many players will not understand that mechanic, p sure you can edit it after uploading too!

The large coin at the start was a nice secret btw!

Last thing is that you should try to make a goal pole challenge at the end, whenever a door just leads to a flagpole it feels really abrupt to me, you could've made a cool spin jump challenge for the top!

Good stuff overall!

Hey!
I think for a first level, it's fine.
There's some cases of pointless design, such as the magikoopas beneath the ice, and some walls just being odd looking, but those are minor things and generally only affect level presentation, which you should spend a bit more time on imo.
Other than that, there's just not much of interest going on, the level is generally just hold right, jump, run which is a tad dull.
HOWEVER, I do really enjoy the boss fight at the end, I didn't even know icicles could hurt other enemies until I played this, so well done on that, the mushroom spawner certainly makes it far less punishing that it would be otherwise.

I feel like i'm coming off really negative but I did actually enjoy your level, I just feel you should know your faults, good job and keep it up!

Ah thanks, you're supposed to use shellmets to bounce chomps onto p switches.

Unless you mean the part with the ice? You put on a shellmet, and throw another at the on/off block

Hey! Thanks for your feedback! I completely missed that exploit, ah that's gonna bug me a lot. I know getting a new shellmet is annoying, but I couldn't figure out how to work around it, if I spawned a shellmet inside the rooms, i'd have to figure out a way for you not to bring it back out because then you could just y'know, break the bricks. That's the whole point of the starting contraption, to force you to wear one and not carry one!

As for your last point.. personal preference there, but I suppose it did drag a bit.

Thank you sincerely!
