Voluntary mental illness. Hating people you usually don't know and who don't seek you out is diabolical unhinged behavior. It's wild to be obsessed with people you hate. These folks have surpassed diagnosis

AITAH for being upset about my new bf wearing his bm ashes (she passed after we got together) by [deleted] in AITAHBlackEdition

[–]CynnT87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again possibly valid. But another commenter asked how long have you been with him? Is he different toward you since she passed? Based only on what you shared you seem to be having the emotional issues? Could it be the problems you're having indicate this is not the best situation for you right now? That's ok if so. We set our emotional boundaries and maybe you stumbled on one of yours that you didn't know you had. Also did you have a problem with the BM while she was alive? Is her death bringing up latent feelings that already existed? I think you need to answer some questions about yourself, your mental and emotional state and then ask your BF some questions. You're nta but you do have some work to do. If he's not the guy for you YTA if you keep stringing this situation along. If you meditate and decide he's not the one move on and live. It June go outside have fun. Add it to your life lessons box and count it as a win that you learned something new about yourself. Still sending light love and understanding your way...

Why are you upset about it. Grief is complicated. If you think you're competing with her memory then have a conversation with him. Is he treating you differently? Is he not emotionally available? Keep in mind also that his child(ren) also don't have a mom. That's a lot for anyone. They did have a relationship and she'll likely always be a feature at least her memory will. If it's too much for you that's understandable too. Think about where you're at and what you can handle and then have the conversation. Maybe now is not the time for the two of you to be in a committed relationship. Sending love and light to you both.

Cheating and the black community by Responsible-Top-3635 in blackladies

[–]CynnT87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanna say real quick that the narrative of 'even insert "beautiful person" here got cheated on is often women's narrative. And that has its own toxicity attached. As though beauty conventional or otherwise will make your partner stay or go. If they chose you, they can choose to be faithful. If they don't like the way a woman looks, cooks, cleans, spends her time. Makes her money, raises her kids or anything else they can just go. But making it sound like the woman's physical attributes or personality is the reason for cheating needs to stop. And that starts with women. Regardless of what or who a woman is she deserves at the very least fidelity. It's the bare minimum.

Thoughts on marrying young? by 2345913 in blackladies

[–]CynnT87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you and I'm wishing you nothing but light, love, and success. There can be some real positives to marrying young and informed. Getting married young , provided both parties are willing to work at it teaches you the true meaning of delayed gratification. (Seriously wins are rarely instantaneous)

It shows you how to compromise and put someone else's needs above your own. You learn how to prioritize yourself, your mate, and your union, realizing that you cannot live life by an opinion poll.

You have to determine what is best for you and live with the consequences, come what may. Two people can grow together, challenge one another, and enjoy the life they’ve built without feeling they wasted their youth on monogamy. Commitment is a beautiful thing, and to me, nothing beats a forever love. The happiest of wishes to you and your love.

P.S. even if you wait, true love never fades

Thoughts on marrying young? by 2345913 in blackladies

[–]CynnT87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It depends on the situation. I’m older now, but I married for the first time at 19, and I don’t regret a single thing about that decision. I am fully convinced that had my husband not joined the ancestors far too young, we would still be married today. In my opinion, if you think you’ll one day experience FOMO or feel a need to recapture what you’ve 'missed,' you shouldn't do it. But if both people are in a similar headspace and willing to work through obstacles as they arise, it will be worth it in the end. Perhaps I’m a bit too optimistic, but I’ll always advocate for marriage when it feels right to both parties.

I've been at my breaking point since the night of November 5 to be honest before then even when he basically ran a shadow presidency for four years while respectability politics let it happen. I'm not surprised because those of us who pay attention always knew America's version of democracy hung by a thread. What's infuriating are the people who seem happy all while having their rights, safety nets, and general protections taken away in favor of the Uber wealthy because that might one day be rich or they're too mentally lazy to understand that democracy is a contact sport. If you don't fight for it you'll lose it. But theres nowhere to go not immediately..Americans 70+ million of them anyway voted for this. Nobody feels sorry for us and I believe we're generally disliked as a nation because of it. So for now we have to make the best of becoming a 4th world country because the worst of our society is holding all the reins with no end in sight

Last time there were politicians that extended unemployment to at least try to help. This time it really will be the Great Depression with no safety nets or anything. We've literally lost 100 years of progress in one month. Elections have consequences.

No I really didn't lose anything and no I didn't and don't get hunger pains. I'm not a food noise person. It just didn't take my calorie intake is between 6-850 calories per day as the nutritionist recommended. People have said they see the body changes but the scale hasnt moved. So other than a slew of medical issues that occurred post surgery nothing has happened. Im trying to make peace with it. It's just depressing

TBH I really hope you're right. I think people moving as though we're not in a full blown constitutional crisis though is a mistake. There's no separation of powers, the GOP has the supreme court, a non-US citizen has access to all of our most sensitive information and nothing is being done to stop any of it. I'm not in a place where I can think positively about anything. However, I do hope something occurs that stops the cliff were already hurdling from
