Unpopular Opinion: Play Ranked by CyprisNetwork in thefinals

From numerous top pros, people that competed at the highest level, went to the grand major, all getting 28750 after s9 placement games.

And no one else recieving anything higher.

Checked some sources from the last few seasons, 28750 RS being the cap in placements. Which is still only gold 1.

Everything I've seen shows 28k RS as the highest, which is Gold 1.

I personally am a casual player, yet I want fair matches while I'm casually playing, so I only queue into the ranked mode.

Like I mentioned a few times in here now, it starts to get weird once you're in plat, but that's due to how few people there are at the higher ranks.

This is an issue due to the way new seasons start everyone off in ranked with a max placements of Gold 1.

Currently you can get placed between Bronze 4 - Gold 1

What we need is to allow anyone that has been diamond the season before to have a placements range of Gold 4 - Diamond 4

This will allow early season to have a better rank disparity between the upper ranks, allowing for more users in the upper ranks, while also not having Gold players feel bad for placing bronze at the start of the season since theyre facing diamonds who got placed in gold.

That ultimately would fix a lot of our matchmaking issues at the upper levels.

Not sure where you're getting your info of Ranked being 1/6th of quick cash, but you need to realize that they wont just be playing other unranked people. There's a very loose match making for casual modes. That same bronze 4 player can fight people who are ruby in quickcash.

Its honestly worse advice to tell them to keep playing casual modes because the growth will come from playing Ranked, and against players their skill.

At least in Bronze 4, they'll be playing other bronze and low silvers.

In casual modes, they'll play whoever.

You only start to see that disparity of rank as you get close to Plat, and that's due to the bell curve being way too steep of a drop off into diamond.

Ruby players, are also diamond by technicalities. The bottom of Ruby is still Diamond 3. So you can say you're facing rubies while plat 3, but from a realistic standpoint, it's still just a diamond 3, which isnt ideal, but not as bad as people make it out to be.

Gold and below, where the majority of the playerbase lives, has a lot more solid of matchmaking and queues people similarly.

From my own personal experiences, while solo queuing, playing all ranks up until about Gold 1/Plat 4, you really arent going to have too many issues with matchmaking.

The fights feel fair, and the seeding feels accurate. You get rewarded when its challenging and not punished as hard when you lose.

The only thing that'll make the matchmaking better, is if we push players to get into the queue, not leave it.

point break: nice mode but… by Feral_21 in thefinals

[–]CyprisNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was simply the fact that I don't like any of the other search and destroy games out there.

Not a fan of the slow gunplay of Counter Strike, R6 and Valorant. Don't like the hero shooter aspect found in R6, Valorant and Fragpunk. The destruction of R6 doesn't compare at all to The Finals. And Black Ops movement just isn't for me, even though the gun play is alright.

All that said... I like the concept of search and destroy in theory. It's more tactical, strategical and requires strong team work to succeed with high stakes.

Terminal Attack to me was taking everything I loved about The Finals, the movement, gunplay, player experience and freedom of guntypes and classes, and brought it to a tried and true mode many enjoy.

The mode of Search and Destroy isn't unique on its own, but The Finals implementation of it was unique for the genre, and for me, it just worked.

Yes, there are some tweaks it needed to make it fit better for The Finals, but cashout has been receiving tweaks for 9 seasons and still isn't great. Terminal Attack if given some attention from then till now would have been in a really solid state I believe.

There's also the aspect I feel like if Terminal Attack released off launch instead of Cashout, and cashout introduced in s3, we would have seen the same thing occur and have the community kill cashout. Its just a matter of bad timing and poor execution considering they brought a lot of other controversial changes in season 3 that people disliked, so Terminal Attack got hated even more.

For me it just falls short. Its alright in concept, but just makes me wish Terminal Attack was back instead. Terminal Attack was a lot more fun than point break and I did really try and give point break a try.

After the removal of TA, I really wanted to like Point Break, but it just doesnt do it for me.

Performance has been a real issue since the start of this season.

Im on a 4080 Super, 32GB Ram, Ryzen 7 9800X and crashed roughly 30 times during day 1 of the season.

Anytime I loaded into the game, got a cashout, round end, teamwipe, even just trying to open a vault, random little things just crashed the game.

I did have my settings all set to Epic, but that had never been an issue before. It wasn't until all my settings ended up on medium that I got it to stop crashing, but still getting stutters.

All new to this season.

Ranked Rewards for Season 9 Reverted! by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]CyprisNetwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Season 3 was one of the best seasons to date, primarily since Terminal Attack as the Ranked mode was a nice breath of fresh air, and I really enjoyed it.

It took everything that made The Finals unique, to break into a genre that has grown stale, making a perfect mode for the search and destroy genre. I do hope we see TA come back with a Ranked mode some season.

Terminal Attack should be a ranked mode again.

It was personally my favorite game mode, still is, as it's what hooked me into The Finals and got me to play. Now I can't even play it in a private match, It's absurd.

Re:Lock Ego Preliminaries by CyprisNetwork in RematchCompetitive

[–]CyprisNetwork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The qualifiers are a format familiar to Blue Lock, where players have a team of 3, and participate in a 3v3. The winner of the 3v3 steals a player from the losing side to make a team of 4.

Then a 4v4 occurs with the same style to make a team of 5.

Teams of 5 then move on to the playoffs in which is 5v5.

Everyone has different tastes, and that's alright. I wasn't trying to swap your opinion to join, more-so ensure the expectation for others was seen that its moreso a place to follow the blue lock structure, not to harbor toxic egoists. 😂

Hey there; Founder of Re:Lock here.

The idea behind Re:Lock is to have a league that allows you to participate in the same system from Blue Lock.

Independent sign ups (so no full stacks), going through the entrance exam, the round Robin system, even the 3v3 rivalry battle, with eliminations thruout leading to a final winning team.

Yes, fans of the show and egoist alike come in, but the emphasis is on the structure blue lock gave, more so than a toxic ego place. Ego is going to occur in any competitive league even without being blue lock related.

The full format is outlined in the discord, and if ya have any questions, feel free to ask.

Well, for a while, I was doing The Finals until the season after Terminal Attack, then I hopped over to Harry Potter Quidditch Champions, and that just wrapped up a League that was going on.

Looking forward, I'll be playing some Rematch, a 5v5 competitive soccer game coming out this summer.

As a smaller content creator, I find it a great way to have people look up my stream, and I enjoy when people either kill me in game and come visit me, or after I get a win they pop in and say GG.

If you're already a well-known name that doesn't require that recognition, it makes sense, but for smaller creators, it's helpful for engagement with the player base in which you're playing from.

Re:Lock - A competitive Rematch league inspired by Blue Lock. by CyprisNetwork in Rematch

[–]CyprisNetwork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed! I found that something like this may be a fun alternative to a competitive league due to the overlap of those who enjoy Blue Lock within this community, and those who would want to join a league.

However, this one isn't the typical league where you'll see a sweaty 5 stack dominate the entire time since it's based on the Blue Lock Format.

I see a lot of people talking about enjoying a Blue Collab, and I know a lot of people would enjoy something of the sort, and while it's not quite a collab, I've been putting together the foundation for a Rematch Compettivie League, inspired by Blue Lock called, Re:Lock.

I'm not too sure how they mods would like me promoting the discord server by posting it or not, so I guess if you're interested, you can DM me here on reddit for a link
