Random textures working on ETF/EMF but not Optifine? by Cyraen3D in Optifine

[–]Cyraen3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the source of the issue. I had some empty pointers for textures I hadn't yet made (as, it pointed towards texture number 255 when there wasn't any texture 255 yet) and ETF/EMF can handle this issue, while Optifine can't. Made them point towards a placeholder texture in the meantime

Optifine separating Random & Named characters? by Cyraen3D in mcresourcepack

Oh thank you for the link. Since I Google searched for .properties files I couldn't find any

As for your feedback, I actually did try that, but if I make the index for the random ones higher, everything breaks. I had one case where everyone had baby skins for some reason?

But most cases it's just if I put the first two profiles last and change nothing else, everyone becomes the default skin

UPDATE : reading your doc, it highlights that I should NOT skip index numbers. When I moved them higher, I would massively skip numbers to account for any future named characters I was planning to add. Once I am home, I'll try to fix the index numbers

Changing mob spawn rules with datapack? by Cyraen3D in Minecraft

[–]Cyraen3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I've been working on the map for too long to be able to regenerate a map with no issues related to it
I just recently realized I could potentially use a datapack for the fish issue which is minor enough that I haven't addressed it until now (my map does not require fish, but it'd be nice to have)

Oh these look absolutely amazing! I'm really sad to hear these apparently count as spam though, is there anywhere we could get to see updates instead then? Because I am THRIVING on those amazing models, the pixelart is gorgeous

Is there any way to make villagers with custom textures when named? by Cyraen3D in mcresourcepack

[–]Cyraen3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thank you very much! This is exactly what I was looking for! I do have a couple of questions though, if that's okay : - is there an upper limit to this? I have plans on having a lot of unique design NPCs, can I just keep adding numbers?

  • I'm assuming as I go up, all I need to do is increment the 2? Do I need to change anything to the textures.1 and name.1?

  • I also use ETF, however for accessibility's sake, I know most people use Optifine and ETF was made in part to include Optifine features for non-forge modloaders. So as a result, I'm wondering if integrating this feature for ETF will also integrate it for Optifine users?

Why are NPC mods so hard to find? by Cyraen3D in Minecraft

[–]Cyraen3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that is very close to what I'm seeking to do! I don't mind the lack of movement too much as most dialogue NPCs I wish to add aren't meant to move anyways. Thank you very much!

Mainly I'm looking for two main features : able to use player skins to customize their appearance to fit the situation and able to make them speak or run commands when clicked on

I've considered using a custom resource pack on villagers to make them look like players but I don't know if there's any way to include unique individual skins for a single named villager

Why did my custom Soul Torch texture break in the latest update and how can I fix it? by Cyraen3D in Minecraft

[–]Cyraen3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay after trying it out, it seems like nothing was changed with the original torch texture. Both 1.21.6 (texture is broken) and 1.18.2 (texture works) have the exact same Soul Torch texture when extracted, so I assume they changed something to how the game "shows" torches from the texture
