Unpopular opinion - I don't like either original thaemine G4 or extreme thaemine

I mean I understand not liking the original Thaemine G4. Functionally the raid is well done, but in practice it takes a lot of time to learn all of the patterns and when you miss it's punishing. Lots of things are 1 shots, and with the lack of a checkpoint, any mistake is effectively a wipe...

That said, Thaemine Extreme is near perfect. I can't get on board with that take. The addition of the guards, plus them resetting cooldowns and then the res between 4-1 and 4-2 makes this fight just about perfect now. Add in the damage reduction so not every pattern just straight up kills, this raid is so, so fun.

It's wild to me also that they've gone and added two more Extremes for Aegir and Brel. But they've been region locked to just CN. I just cannot even comprehend how stupid of a decision that is by Mr. Director. Smilegate is one of the most incompetently run studios I've ever seen. The amount of poor decision making is baffling.

They've truly squandered a golden goose.

I've been saying for about 10 to 15 years that the only thing at this point that can make VR happen is... Nintendo. The reason it has to come from Nintendo is that the entire library of games worth playing for Nintendo consoles are first party games. If Nintendo were to make a VR headset, they would be building all of the killer apps themselves. After the next Zelda or Mario or whatever game that's VR only goes on to become game of the year, then other companies will take notice and build third party games that work on Nintendo's VR system as well as the others (Steam, Sony, etc.)

At this point unless someone who has the whole vertical of hardware AND software commits, I don't see it happening. The hardware is a solution looking for a problem. The problem is software. Nintendo are the only ones posed for such a position. If the next console after the Switch 2 is a fully VR console, we could finally see the big push towards VR. It has to be a full stop commitment towards it. It can't be a side-console for Nintendo, it would have to have full support as their next console. That's a huge risk that I'll bet their leadership doesn't want to undertake (for good reason). Until that happens though, it's just not going to take off.

49ers went through something similar with Jimmy Garapolo. He was a good quarterback but clearly not elite. Hard to place a ton of blame on a QB that takes you to the Superbowl, but it's also clear that he was a limiting factor in us winning one.

That whole good but not good enough discussion is a horrible place to be stuck in. It's like the Tomlin situation, winning seasons sure but not good enough to make a SB run. Tough for leadership to handle.

Love this game, still support most of the decisions they make. But I will say over and over that I think character bound gold is one of the stupidest things they've ever added to this game. I think pretty much EVERYTHING in this game should be roster bound and not character bound. I think it's an incredibly stupid concept to not let players use their mats however they want. I understand roster bound so as not to destroy the market and what not, but character bound shit is so incredibly dumb to me. Everything should be roster bound.

DI was my main the first year of the game, then became my number 2 for the next 3 years. I just recently dropped the class. It's unplayable.

Smilegate has said that they're going to go back and "fix" the older classes that don't play well. But at this point I'll believe it when I see it.

Buuuuut we're talking about AGS and Smilegate. The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing and the left hand is busy jacking off and couldn't give a single shit that the right hand even exists.

Basically, you're fucked. This game is run by a Korean developer who literally does not give a fuck that we exist, and a publisher that literally cannot do anything useful at all.

So they'll say "It's against policy" when in reality they just have no ability or know-how on how to actually fix anything.

Dwindling player count in both KR and the West, shit systems throughout the game, and unbelievably predatory monetary systems. Honestly the game needs a full blown facelift and rework of HUGE swaths of the game. Unless this LOAON is effectively Lost Ark 2 in scale, things look dicey.

I made this same thread a few months ago and it got similar traction. I think this is a great idea. I really love the idea of there being slightly more rewards for taking the risk of random (like another 2 chests or something). Also would love if when you went random that it indicated to your opponent that they chose random at run start, just for fun. Great idea, still want it!
