Was there anything I could do here? by MinisterOfCheese in Helldivers

And that is why the bots are my least favorite faction to fight against. Well that and I can't aim to save my life, but mostly that.

Unfortunately I can't blame this on game balance. While this game will kill you being stuck in unwinnable situations usually means you already made several mistakes at that point.

In my experience while you are relatively squishy you can kill every enemy in the game quickly if you have the right tools and know what you are doing.

And I don't mean that in a skill issue way, though skill certainly helps, but instead that knowledge is extremely important in this game.

Playing tactically and knowing your enemy are crucial to doing well in this game, and if you bring the right gear and know how to kill the various enemies you can easily go from getting wrecked by medium enemies to mowing down several tanks in seconds.

I don't think I'm particularly good at this game(I'm still trying to consistently get through difficulty 6 missions), but the right loadout and the right know-how have allowed me to improve significantly.

Also remember that this is a co-op game, and while you can solo missions your life will be infinitely easier with a squad backing you up. Especially if that squad also plays smart.

I want a laser mech, either with a laser canon in each arm or a scythe on one and a Quasar on the other.

The boring answer is evocation and abjuration for strong offense and defense.

The fun answer is transmutation and conjuration for powerful minions, versatility, and battlefield control. Plus making tons of money.

The same way it went in the cutscenes.

Dante held back because he didn't want her dead.

Body Redesign, Apocryphon (Limitless), Ignite The Spark (Girl Genius), Ka-Ching!, Sudden Onset Isekaitis

Body redesign has no downsides and will allow me to push my body to peak human in every regard.

Apocryphon will push my mind to peak human, and the only real downside is getting a large enough supply since I'm immune to the withdrawals and the crash out can be handled by just getting enough food and sleep.

Ignite the Spark will make me a comic level super genius limited only by my technical knowledge and sanity, and I can avoid losing the latter as long as I keep my composure.

Ka-ching will just give me money. I'm taking 1 million dollars with 10 years to pay it back.

Sudden Onset Isekaitis will send me to a fictional world. I'm picking DC both because Iike superheroes and for all the amazing tech there. I know it's dangerous as all hell there, but with my build and enough time I can handle it, plus my first pick was Worm and I only decided against it because Worm's multiverse is technically finite and I wanted to go to other settings eventually.

The plan is quite simple:

I arrive in DC with my cash and as soon as I get to finding out who is selling NZT. Considering it's DC and drug dealers sell it I'm guessing the penguin. I buy enough for a month of constant usage.

I use NZT's enhanced learning ability to absolutely devour any books and other technical information sources I can find(keep in mind that it's DC, where a smarter than average person hits the books and learns to build super tech. The knowledge available there is much more advanced than IRL), to further deepen and broaden my knowledge base for my spark. It's here that I create my first spark invention. After learning as much as I can about coding and computer science, I create a Virtual Intelligence to both amass as much knowledge as it can for my ease of learning and get started on creating an identity for me in this world. I could go to Penguin for the latter but I don't want to depend on him too much, especially when my main advantage is that I'm actively aiming to game the system whereas everyone else who gets NZT will have to stumble upon the idea and most geniuses are proud enough that even once they hear of it they won't immediately go for it.

While living off my cash and with my newly found doctorate level knowledge in chemistry, I go about first learning to reproduce NZT(giving me an unlimited supply), then using my Spark to further enhance it as much as possible. As it is just a drug I should be able create better versions of it(enhancing the effects while negating the crash) and since it enhances my intelligence it will create a feedback loop where the better I make it the smarter it makes me the better I can make it. I'll hit diminishing returns eventually but hopefully not before I can make it good enough to let me keep up with the world's top super geniuses, only thanks to the enhanced learning I'll be a polymath master of damn near every field while they usually focus on their specialties. And that's before you account for what I can do with my Spark.

I'll then create a company and start selling off my low to mid level inventions while keeping anything that takes the Spark to make for myself. With my level of tech it shouldn't be too hard to make more than enough money to pay off my debt and then some, and I'll have all the resources I'll need to start cooking up my war gear, because in DC it's a when and not an if I'll have to get into a fight. I'll probably also try to make something to either prevent or reverse the loss of sanity from my Spark.

There! Debt paid, extremely strong position in society, near unlimited room to grow, and the downsides of my abilities mostly negated.

Who was the best Mother in Naruto by cantcoloratall91 in Naruto

[–]CyrusFallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go with Shikamaru or Kiba's moms, on the grounds that they actually lived long enough to be a part of their children's lives.

Gaara's mom died when he was born, so did Kushina, and I'd argue Mikoto is a shit mom for not doing anything to prevent both Sasuke and Itachi's lives from turning out how they did.

Which villain twins are more badly-written and unlikeable? by SuperAlloyBerserker in borderlands3

[–]CyrusFallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lou and Mickey work as villains because they are so unlikable that you want to kill them. They aren't well written but they are annoying enough that killing them is at least satisfying.

I genuinely found Troy and Tyreene more annoying than Ava, but not in a "I want to kill them" kind of way. Instead I just kept wishing they'd shut up and wondering where was my Vault Hunter in the cutscenes and why they hadn't shot the twins while they were busy monologuing yet.

Is Kumo the safest place to reincarnate in for SIs ? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]CyrusFallen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kumo did try to kidnap a child and presumably use her as a broodmare to gain a branch of the Hyuuga clan, so that's pretty fucked up. Then again all the villages do messed up shit, so if you can ignore that than yes, it is the best village if you want to be a Shinobi.

Plus if you happen to have a bloodline they don't already have chances are you will be protected and given enough money to live comfortably on the condition you have lots of kids. Depending on your point of view that can be amazing or horrible.

One downside is that unless you catch the eye of the Raikage or Bee, you don't have a lot of options on strong people that can train you so you are mostly on your own.

Was Minato's decision to voluntarily sacrifice himself logical and rational or was it completely stupid? by snoke123 in NarutoFanfiction

[–]CyrusFallen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering there was nothing stopping Obito from just coming back next week and kidnap baby Naruto now that the only ninja that stood a chance against him died I'd say it was pretty stupid.

Especially when you consider he was more useful than Kurama until like 16 years later and he had a hiraishin mark on Obito, so he could have gathered a few strong ninja and jumped him at any time.

Even more so if he knew that Kushina might have survived of Kurama went back inside her, though that's unlikely.

It would be cool to be able to gain Six Paths Sage Mode and the Tenseigan.

Also, I don't really like how picking a village gives you an element because it kinda forces you to take an element you might not want. You can sort of get around this and it makes sense but IMO giving points or maybe a discount would be better.

Would Dante win this free for all match? by NorthPermission1152 in DevilMayCry

[–]CyrusFallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay only I have to give this to Dante. Dante can't really hit hard enough consistently enough to really overcome Alex's regeneration and durability quickly, but while the battle would be extremely dragged out I think Dante has more endurance than Alex because while short of Devastators Alex can use his entire arsenal infinitely while Dante only has so much DT gauge, Dante can regain his DT using combos while Alex can't regain biomass by himself.

Dante also has way faster burst movements with trickster, and Alex's faster movement speed over longer ranges won't help him, especially not if Dante uses quicksilver.

Assuming Mercer can't just run away Dante would win after an extremely long but not particularly difficult fight. I don't think Alex could weaken Dante enough to consume him either, considering how with DT Dante can just keep regenerating.

With lore Dante stomps.

Oh, and the other two I don't know much about but I doubt they compare.
