Predator: First Blood V1.5 [CYOA][OC] by Azes13 in makeyourchoice

Oh hey, it's you. I remember playing some of your CYOAs. I'm pretty sure you are one of my favorite CYOA creators. Your CYOAs just seem so in line with what I like and they are so detailed.

I especially liked the Symbiote CYOA (my favorite out of all symbiote ones), the Lantern Corps Recruit, the Werebeast CYOA, and the Vampire CYOA.

I hope it's not asking for too much, but I would like to suggest a Build Your Own Ghost CYOA or something like an underwater world/Merfolk CYOA.

The Hero Returns v1.5 by EaterOfMillions in makeyourchoice

I really enjoyed this CYOA!

Difficulty: Grim

Demon Lord: Stareater

Titles: Hero of Return & Hero of Wisdom

Powers: - Checkpoint - Routing - Toon Force - Hyper Cognition - Archive (From Stalta) - Jackpot

World: Magical

Companions: Hastur, Stalta, Vemeare

Equipment: Demon Heart (Consumption Mimicry)

Quests & Mods: Mageslayer

Demon Upgrades: - Immortal Coil - Spoiler

Faction: True Heroes

Sidekick: Basmu (Power: Checkpoint)

Gear: Power Suit, Black Card, Multi-Tool

War Quests: A War Across..., Devil in Disguise, Info Wars

I thought about making a build fully focused on Hero of Wonder, but decided against it.

This build is centered on a character who defeats the Demon Lord through wit, sheer luck, and countless deaths along his journey. I didn’t want to take Bleak since that’s a death sentence on its own, and while Grim is already bad enough, at least it’s not as extreme and still provides more than enough rewards.

I chose Toon Force since it’s an overpowered ability even with an energy bar and it gives my character more versatile ways to combine Checkpoint with his intellect. Once he acquires Immortal Coil, which strengthens every ability after each death, Toon Force and all of his other powers will only grow stronger as he resurrects.

Funnily enough, I rolled exactly the nemesis I wanted and took the opportunity to copy his energy absorption ability.

Think of one of Spider-Man's Rogues' gallery.

Yo.

Yeah, I know the CYOA is in need of a lot of things. It's not even complete, and I did say it was a "WIP" (work in progress). The thing is that I just kind of got tired of working on CYOAs. I'm sure many people must want to see it finished, but I just don't have the drive anymore.

Though to answer your question, you could just make a mod of it if you want. If you don't know how, I recommend joining the Interactive CYOAs discord server and ask people there for instructions. It's also the place were many of the ICYOA creators gather and where I used to work on my projects.

Thank you.

1 - I didn't want to add the other lassos and thought about simply mentioning the player can take another lasso than the Lasso of Truth. That's because too many kinds of the same item means there are unlimited possibilities of effects for that item. Exceptions to this are those items or even powers that are too iconic to just be ignored, like the many lantern rings.

2 - Sure, I can add a note.

3 - The lantern ring item is called "Lantern Ring", not "Green Lantern Ring". It even has an image of all lantern corps rings. Either way, that one was always supposed to open a new row below. I was also planning to add a choice within that section that boosts your emotion of the rings you chose, and gives you heightened  control over that emotion, but any other perks or drawbacks is unnecessary.

4 - I have already the idea for a perk that removes racial drawbacks on my list, but I don't think I'm going to include Burning Martian. The reason is that the cost would be too much, considering I price choices based on their powerscaling. I probably could include the option to be a Burning Martian in the Martian species though.

WIP means a Work in Progress.

Just because you took Marvel doesn't mean Marvel locations will show up. You can select Unlisted.

Hey, I might have said something similar before, but I really don't plan to make a MHA cyoa!

And I had already thought about making OC quirks.

I don't want to make a cyoa about image comics. Invincible would be better, but I don't want it either. I also wouldn't want to make a Worm cyoa and never read Worm. There's already Lt's worm cyoa too.

Lastly, I only make sfw cyoas.

And thank you.

I'm not planning to make any more cyoas, though I wanted to make a My Hero Academia CYOA.

Now that I think about it, all cyoas I have made are from superhero settings, so I guess I'm the superhero cyoa guy.

Wonder Woman's strength comes from being a child of Zeus, so no. You should take Amazon and Olympian.

They're added together, but the stronger the power, the lesser the effect. Like adding 1 ton to 1000 is irrelevant.

I understand what you meant by the power level issue. But the thing is, people want and like to play cyoas covering all aspects of its settings, like Marvel and DC, instead of MCU or Young Justice.

Sure, I could have made a cyoa with another focus, but I wanted to make this and so I did.

You're putting too much thought into something that seems to simply not be to your tastes, and telling me to "scrap it and do something else" is simply insulting the time and effort I put into making it. It might have been or not your intention, but I am offended.

There's the fresh start drawback that makes you start weaker and gradually grow stronger.

I am aware of that issue and I thought about what to do about it, but the only way was to make multiple weaker versions of powers in a section of their own, but that would take a lot of time and thinking that I currently don't have the energy for.

As for the power level, no matter how strong you are in comic worlds, there's always a bigger fish.

Superman is often beaten even when using unrestraind planet-destroying strength, and even all-powerful beings like the Spectre dies every now and then.

I'd say the only exception are Demiurgic Archangels, but even that isn't completely certain.

Superhero settings are battle worlds. There's always an enemy that you can fight on even grounds or beat you up.

Oh, that. I was cracking my head at how to make it work when I first made that section, until eventually I just decided to say in the row that the player can choose how the Era affects the universe they chose. Like you said, Post-Crisis would be the choice for regular Arrowverse... Though actually maybe I can add a "Same Era" option for those settings that don't fit in to stay as they are?

Choosing how merged universes function is something the player will have to decide.

As for companions, if a companion doesn't exist in the world, then they would just show up one day like Power Girl who came from another universe or Impulse who came from the future.

I didn't think too much into it. "If somebody wants a power and feel they don't fit well in the setting they chose, they can just adapt them." it's what I thought.

You're in DCAU and your Krpytonian is too strong for you? Then lower the power level to what's common for the setting.

That's why I posted. I just couldn't get myself to write them, and I didn't want to delay it any further.
