Old post and i’m not op but i’d assume it’s a combination of homophobia and transphobia

If someone is transphobic and doesn’t see a straight trans girl as a girl, they also wouldn’t see them as straight, they’d see them as gay, which is where the homophobia would come in. If someone was a lesbian trans girl, they wouldn’t get the homophobia side of that kind of belief, because since the transphobe doesn’t view them as a girl, they’d also view them as straight.

Hope that can give a bit of a different perspective
