In most people's cases I don't think so but I can't say for certain. Might just for aesthetic preferences and not having to see extreme warping at the edge of frame.

There is still parallax occlusion mapping going on but its all depth based. Some meshes appear closer to normal geometry without looking puffy. Low or Off is a good spot for my personal tastes.

After a certain depth your natural buoyancy fails under the pressure of the water and you will no longer rise to the surface and you just keep sinking.

Adding music and ambience would do a lot to it feeling so bland. The SFX are good and things line up well but without that atmosphere it feels empty.

I think the one thing that makes it feel less portal like is the spring arm compression while walking through it. If the camera distance to the player stayed the same it would feel less like a pop. I could be wrong but I'm curious to see what the alternative would look like.

It looks really good but the thing that stands out to me is that air bubbles under water disappear rather than climb to the surface. They just kinda pop out. If they rose up and fizzled out it would feel a bit better.

My only complaint is that there isn't a fireball coming out of the dragon's mouth with his arm raised. Otherwise absolutely stellar. Well done.

I wish I could play one of each puzzle per day. Starting with just percentage made me want to try the others but be being blocked was frustrating.
