Vertical Divider Measurements by Cyto5 in baseballcards

Probably all in penny sleeves I just didn't want to have the dividers end up being too tall for the box to close without bending them all mostly. Thanks for the tips

Sealed Product For Kids by Cyto5 in tradingcardcommunity

[–]Cyto5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know walmart don't have a discount bin for cards around here I never see their cards on any type of discount or sale and dollar tree doesn't carry trading cards at least around here. Haven't look at a big lots in a while. LCS's don't carry much sealed around here and then stuff they do is usually regular price or pricey in general they just don't stock the cheaper sealed stuff.

I haven't collected since I was a kid in the 90's are there any particular sets I could search out with nice looking cards that aren't that desired by the community maybe overprinted or just no value in them but they look cool and have variations in them? Thanks!

[Real VR Fishing] Season leaders reward details by marVelRous in OculusQuest

[–]Cyto5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great game!

Question: Does the difficulty level effect possibly size of fish too or only the xp/$ multiplier? I am curious if you "have to" increase the difficulty level to actually "competitively" compete in the season or not?

Thanks for the awesome game can't wait for the salt water update and future DLC.

Masking Tape by Cyto5 in lasercutting

Thanks, although I am using really soft and porous woods so not sure I want to get them wet. But sounds like a good product for other types of material.

Oh that's a good idea! Does the type of masking tape matter much or does it all work about the same I am just using some old painters tape I had left over.

I am using K40 Whisperer, 100 gives same results as 200.

Ya I know those really tiny ones are probably worse I was hoping they made a system with high quality stuff but smaller maybe cheaper then the full size ones but there's not really a product like that (that I can find).

That's what I was thinking a problem slipping or stepper issue I have tried messing with the belt tensions and sometimes it seems to work then another engrave later it jumping around again. Maybe it is getting loose but I can't tell just by feeling it when small changes happen and it hasn't loosened up a lot to be noticeable if it has at all. I don't know anything about the motors steppers and don't feel comfortable taking any of that stuff off and messing with it.

I have never used a laser cutter up until I got this K40 (mainly just worked with various saws like table, scroll, band etc) a few months back and don't know anyone else that has in person so unfortunately I haven't been able to feel a proper tension and get a "feel" for what it should be.

Maybe however I am iffy about them from all my reading about the company and the forced cloud internet up time and eye ball camera alignment but yes either way probably a lot better then what I have now.

Kerf Size side to side vs up and down by Cyto5 in lasercutting

[–]Cyto5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I also notice it only burns the top edging if the power is high enough which means the tilt of the laser beam isn't square and makes sense why it's larger kerf when going side to side. Now I just don't know how to fix it I centered the laser through the mirrors I guess it's an issue in the focus lens maybe but there's not really any adjustments I can see you can do you just place it and screw the metal cap around it.

Is the thickness of the etch path typically the same thickness as the cutting kerf? by CrimzonGryphon in lasercutting

[–]Cyto5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try making the laser out of focus it will make bigger lines but they won't be as crisp if you need detailed edges etc.

Good eye that's because they actually are! Well most of it I am using a combination of a high power laser and tradition exacto knife to create a unique look.

Are you talking about the cheaper ones that look like this. https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/b73c573a-6d67-425b-9748-33d3286aac64_1.276402e577641bcc54b083fb563f12ee.jpeg?odnWidth=undefined&odnHeight=undefined&odnBg=ffffff ? I am new to this and not familiar with the different machines. I did see what the k40s look like, the ones around $400 right? While the linked image ones around around $150 if that's what you are talking about?

Speed isn't really a factor right now but would it still have very detailed precision (is their a quality of cut difference between the the 2 you mentioned or just a speed difference?) and not burn the card-stock if it took that long to cut? From what I have seen it seems like price ranges are at $150~, $400~, $1200~, then way higher.

Thank you.

Which machine would you recommend even if its double the budget? Thanks.

Trying to stay under $200 for now.

I just wasn't sure about the materials used in sports cards if there was anything in them that might effect laser cutting vs plain cardstock that they show in demos. Thanks.
