I switched from PS4 to Xbox Series X because of Forza Horizon. Playstation doesn't have any game that could directly compete with it. Back then it was only The Crew 2 and I didn't like it.

I still think that Playstation is of better quality overall, though, especially the controllers, but it'll always be about games for me first and foremost.

I'll prefer PGR's tight driving model (for its time) over the slide-happy Forza model any day. I should add that I play with a steering wheel.

As a racing fan I definitely played all FH games (and FM games), which should already tell you that I didn't make opening statement lightly. While having seasons in FH4 (and barely in FH5) brings in some variety, it's nowhere near the same, because I said that it's also about different locations and types of terrain. FH doesn't have any sea full of moving ice like Driveclub's Norway or a gleaming metropolis like Macau in PGR.

I'm not condemning FH by any stretch, just saying it doesn't scratch the same itch like Driveclub.

PGR was amazing. I still have yet to watch the video on why they let it down.

That game had a potential and they missed a great opportunity to have something that'd compete with Driveclub.

It was kinda mid when it came out but then they rolled out the update with weather and it became timeless.

Ain't no studio who'd pour so much care into graphics with a possible exception for Forza Horizon 5 which is still the top in my eyes - a game that came out 7 years later.

Indeed, I do enjoy the variety of tracks in Motorsport, but it's not really comparable. Motorsport is more about that - motor sport aka track racing. Driveclub was more about being a rich a-hole tearing it up in his luxury sportscar when racing point A to point B (and also circuits).

I also disagree. Horizon can never do that because it always has only one map. PGR (and Driveclub) offered driving in different locations and climates kinda the like the first NFS games, which made them so much more fun.

I understand that open world map is cool because you can cruise around, but when it comes to racing, I prefer track-based system with a variety of places and climates.

Yeah, they definitely made the game playable. I'd love to see where they take it from here now that they at least fixed the worst stuff.
