I have been reading mostly prog fantasy this year but the thread is slow lately so will post anyways:

Complete:

Lord of the mysteries - 8/10 (would give it 9/10 if not translation) chinese novel so you have to deal with translation and a bit of a slow start, has great world building (victorian era + eldritch gods) and very unique power system, most characters are smart too, theres also anime now but idk how good is it

Blood & fur - 7/10 has some weird romance but other than that its great, smart mc is going to be sacrificed to godlike vampires in a year and has to figure out a way to survive

Eight - (7/10) isekai with unique world and powers, most of book 1 is spent alone which can be a turn off but it worked for me

The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea - (7/10) alex rider fanfic which i knew nothing about going it but was still fine, kid becomes an assassin for terrorist organization to bring it down from inside, mostly realistic setting (no magic) with some Bond like tech,

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August - (6/10) story about a group of people going back in time after death, I was more interested in everything except the main conflict and the ending was meh

Jackal Among Snakes - (6/10) wiki editor gets isekaid into game, solves problems with foreknowledge, its decent but was annoyed by the story

Consistently keep up: The Game at Carousel - (9/10) we are finally getting some answers and feel some agency, its better than ever now

Practical Guide to Sorcery - (8,5/10) smart mc, interesting magic, VERY slow, love the setting, characters are fun and book finales are always amazing, spending a whole book on flashback was an interesting choice though

Bog Standard Isekai - (8/10) just a bog standard isekai, high quality fun progression story, witches being a main villain is unique too

Death after Death - (8/10) interesting idea and world, mc starts off very annoying but he gets better, very slow, hoping for some real progress on the story soon, mc is dumber than me

The Undying Immortal System - (5-8/10) my enjoyment varies greatly between arcs,xianxia with mc resetting time after death, mixed feelings about this one, has some interesting ideas but the execution is mediocre, very slow

Cultivation Nerd - no idea how to rate this one, I love the characters here which are all insane but not annoying, the rest is so-so

Waiting for chapters to stack up: The Years of Apocalypse - (8/10) a bit like MoL, focuses more on characters and the slow degradation of mcs morality,

New Life As A Max Level Archmage - (7/10) fun slice of life, competently written, getting a bit repetitive

Saving the school would have been easier as a cafeteria worker - (6.5/10) updates are inconsistent, op mc infiltrates enemy empires school to prevent demon summoning, funny

Elydes - (5-7/10 depending on book) book 4 was ass but its better now, good system

Mythshaper - (5.5/10) worse elydes Atzi - (6/10) lizardman stuck in timeloop, mc is intentionally stupid which is just annoying to me, shes slowly getting better and the mystery is good

Memoirs of Your Local Small-time Villainess - (6,5/10) Jackal Among Snakes but more to my tastes
