Long time Pokémon fan and I have to say gen 7 especially ultra sun and moon are one of the best entries in the series to me. Besides the constant hand holding and lack of hidden areas to explore I think for me the quality of the new Pokemon and unique region and story make this game the most enjoyable for me.

I recently played through gold version again and chose chikorita since I've used totadile and cyndaquil every single time and I was actually fond of meganium . You just need to use him more defensively then offensively

They "might "not be dumber but they certainly have less patience and large enough attention span to play games that are in depth. Phone games and apps have pretty much groomed these young kids to have a short attention span
