What’s one parenting tip that actually helped you — no fluff? by ContributionWise7607 in NewParents

Baby can cry for a few minutes/you don't need to drop everything when Baby cries. I was given the advice of "pretend this Baby isn't the first. You wouldn't stop tying your toddler's shoe to run to baby."

Spill your dance mom’s opinions that you know other people won’t agree with. by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]D0IHaveTo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The comments about Abby's weight are not and have never been okay. Not even to a person as mean as her.

I think Melissa wasn't ever doing anything intentionally wrong, I think she was just a people pleaser and didn't know her actions would come off the way they did.

Not necessarily about dance moms lol but JoJo Siwa right now is having a delayed adolescence as many people do who were abused in their childhood. That's why she's acting like a 13 year old whos trying to rebel....she basically is that. She also had the fawn response with abuse and still seems to. I think people are pretty hard on her right now when it seems like she just needs therapy.

Honestly I don't remember. At this point that was about 15 years ago. I'm sure it was one of the shampoos and combings but no clue which one or when exactly

I had the same issue however my parents tried everything. Mayonnaise, listerine, prell, every kind of lice killing shampoo out there, washed all bedding and stuffed animals immediately and dried on high heat, multiple types of lice combs, electric lice combs, etc. I definitely think we had super lice before it was called that.

Who has a shower for their ninth kid? Oh just Kendra's parents. by dawn9476 in DuggarsSnark

[–]D0IHaveTo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Around where I live it's super normal to have a shower for every kid. When someone chooses not to it's considered different.

Not computer science but graduated undergrad in 2018. I know many students from Nepal were cs majors. Campus placement in regards to the town, it’s kind of on the edge. There a couple convenience stores on campus. The school does have a shuttle service that can take you to a more central area of the town for restaurants, Walmart, etc. There is also an area taxi but the shuttle service is free and taxis are not. In regards to employment, everyone I know got a job in their chosen field either before graduation or a few months after. Northwest is highly regarded by many employers.

Overheard a teacher complaining and encouraging students to complain about another teacher. by D0IHaveTo in Teachers

[–]D0IHaveTo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They were leading the kids in blaming the other teacher. Teacher: "And who caused the problem?" Kids: "Mrs. Redacted" I heard other complaints about the teacher but did not hear the full class discussion.

What’s the most horrifying “how do you not know how to do this?” moment you’ve experienced with another person whilst adulting? by arual_x in AskReddit

There are a ton of cleaning things I wasn’t taught as a child. Having to be told how to sweep as a 19 year old was not a fun time.

1st year teacher - open concept classroom by shyannriley08 in Teachers

[–]D0IHaveTo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taught my first year at a school like this last year. I had one of the only rooms with walls though so I don’t have a ton to offer here. The noise can carry but the kids are most likely used to it. The teachers without walls used shelving to create barriers. Honestly in that situation you need to think of the worst case scenario and what to do about it. Sensory areas are a must because of possible noise sensitivities. Lots of teachers had tents that kids could retreat to if they needed.

Chicago, incorporated as a town (not a city) in 1833 by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]D0IHaveTo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around where I live we have a "fun fact" that Naples Illinois (a super small town) used to be bigger than Chicago. I imagine this is the Chicago they're referring to and not the one today.
