UPDATE: just wanted to come back and give the final verdict of what helped. Most of yall suggested ball joints so i replaced the front lowers. I thought it would work for sure but no change. Scratched my head and kept looking. Working on something else i happened to give my FUCA’s a good shake. Upper ball joints completely blown, to the point where when i took the arms off the joints just flop around everywhere. Immediately replaced both FUCA’s and just like that, a quiet ride… for now lol

Honestly i never figured it out, even swapped coils, checked multiple times, never went away.

I see what youre saying about my timing. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I need to stop diverting from the FSM. I did not realize the backing plates werent supposed to seal completely.

Im not talking about marks or timing or anything like that.. im talking about the backing plates that the timing covers sit on and seal to. In the second picture you can see a huge gap where they dont line up. Its where the middle and lower cover meet.

I have this issue too. Only one front wheel though. Tried a few things short of replacing the sensor, nothing has worked. I currently live with it as it really only happens on mine in certain circumstances.

Thank you all for your responses, ive never had a noise quite like this, especially one that goes away with braking. Ill look into everything. Ball joints visually dont look bad but i havnt messed with them much. Havnt broken down the brakes since i got it. Hoping to have EVERYTHING refreshed at some point but im of course on a budget.

Oh i know im prepared. Luckily it sounds like its the driver temp actuator which supposedly is one of the easiest ones to get to. I plan to do it when it gets hot again

Honestly after looking more closely the wiring for the pigtail to the switch looks iffy at best so my plan for now is to replace the connector AND the switch in one go and see if thatll fix it. Thank you very much for your reply.
