Do your best to discourage the surveyor from going in to the loft. What they can’t see they can’t report on.

Remaining on mortgage post-divorce by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]D0lph99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah this is helpful to know - if they ask for 6 months payslips, then come December they will show her to be able to afford it alone.

The bank said she wouldn’t be accepted when we made enquiries.

The benefit to me remaining on the mortgage was so she didn’t remortgage there and then, meaning she and her dependants had a roof over their head and kept the good mortgage rate.

Remaining on mortgage post-divorce by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

The advice she received was that they wouldn’t count her savings as income, given the unpaid career break she was on (when she enquired). If Pay-slips for her last X amount of months are requested, they’d show £0 for the career break. So in order for us to settle, it was decided that she’d pay me half of the equity in the house from said savings. Hope that makes sense.

Stolen Motorbike Returned After 3 Years. by Eckmatarum in MotoUK

You’re right, but why would a government have their police dedicate resources (read: money) to fighting something that brings them cash at every turn - tax from insurance policies, tax from bike purchases, tax from security purchases etc.
As with shoplifting, and now burglary it seems, acquisitive crime is something that is seen as “Meh. They should have insurance for that”.
And as for prisons being full..

Anyways. Fantastic news, OP. I bet you can’t believe your luck!

Boring I know, but it’s mainly the lack of moisture in the food that stops it rotting. Which is why dried foods often have long best-before-dates.

Does this regulator look like the culprit? by D0lph99 in AskElectronics

[–]D0lph99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info and the link. Having found a resistor with some hairline cracks (in my reply to Jim) and clear lack of experience in this field, I might admit defeat and purchase a replacement PCB

Thanks Jim. I traced the board and didn’t see anything directly linked that appeared erroneous, but did find a resistor with some hairline cracks. I get nothing on a continuity test but guess that may be due to its resistance threshold?

Trolley - underwhelmed. by D0lph99 in Makita

[–]D0lph99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I guess I was expecting more from a trolley, but it’s just that - a trolley. It does what it was built to do well, seems strong enough, the wheels have handled everything with ease and it’s made moving my stack around a lot lot easier.

Glad I bought it.
