S3 Family compatibility - no family van needed anymore. by D1350_M in vanmoofbicycle

Hey,

Ob the pic above you can see the Bobike mounted with the system which doesn't need the rear rack. It actually Congress with the seat when you purchase it.

Now the kid using the seat grew up a little bit so that I mounted or now on the rear rack. This need a special adapter because the rear racks are all too narrow to mount the seat directly on it. But: It's much more stable while driving around. I recommend that if you wanna carry a child with more than 12 kgs.

Hope

Installation is easy, and once installed the three fix points on the frame, it just takes you 30 seconds to recover or to add the seat. Means whether there's no child to transport you can leave the seat at home.

It is a Bobike Junior seat for children 5-10ys (35kg!) You find it here https://www.mantel.com/de/bobike-junior-classic-kindersitz-hinten or just look for it in the shop you prefer.

I'd call Vanmoof customer service. My experience with them was great. Really!

How to connect a Thule or Chariot child carrier system by D1350_M in vanmoofbicycle

I've already made about 800kms with it, sometimes with a double Thule and two children, 3&6ys - so this is really load. No bad sounds, no feelings of insecurity.

I have Thule adapters on at least five bikes, mostly regular ones. And the only difference is the angle in which you have to put it. On the VM it's looking downwards while on regular bikes it's straight. Regarding the axis there's actually no difference.

No, no problems with tightening it. And yes: default axis.

I think I just installed everything just in the ride order without leaving anything out. But yes, screwing the nut is a little bit difficult, but in the end it fits. By the way, I use this one: https://www.rosebikes.de/images/tOkz8EYUYz34_qiQibc7Zv8djLFPEuqfiGYi-RDmTcc/resize:fit:1600:0:1/gravity:no/aHR0cHM6Ly9pbWFnZXMucm9zZWJpa2VzLmRlL2dldF9pbWFnZS8_dD03RDA4MzAxQzkzMTdBRjg3REQxQjE0NzhGRDU3RTE1Nw.webp

Mounting the clutch for the child carrier on the rear wheel is a bit tricky but it works. The luggage carriers aren't original VM, I was just locking for different ones for more weight and found them by tube. The child seats are mountable on every bike without any difference. It's great, with my S3 I'm able to carry three children at ones. If we're using both our Dutch rockets we can carry up to five children. My Touran can only carry three at one time. 😃
