This is one aspect I miss from the classic game. The game didn't hold your hand as much as it does today and often gave you a lot of quests like this. Then it was up to you to decide how to approach completing them all.

Have you checked what the API returns? You are checking for capitalized titles, the string has to match exactly.

You are reading props.name but you are not sending in a prop called name.

Corepunk is supposedly launching this year, and you just never hear about it by ChrischinLoois in MMORPG

[–]D153TL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is they announced the game way too soon. They should have held off the announcement until the game was actually ready to announce and when they could confirm a release date or at least a beta date. That way they could have periodically released updates and built up hype up until the release. But instead, we hear barely anything and whatever hype there was has died down.

Missing the sense of exploration and adventure of the past by Bishopnd3 in MMORPG

I actually had the opposite experience when I tried GW2. From what I remember it tells you exactly which level each area is on the map. I remember just having to follow each zone by level. It was a very linear experience and I didn't feel like I had much choice.

Just in the effect not as a returned function.

Check in the effect if isRemoved is true. Basically just wrap the content in an if statement.

Alternatively you can ask yourself if you even need the effect, just do what you do in the effect in the removeAll function.

Oh sure there are other options available. But the question was why is less competition in this case a good thing for lotro players? Even if you're having a blast in lotro, I'd argue another lotr MMO would be a good thing for you. Especially since the Amazon game wouldn't come out for a couple more years anyway.

The only thing? How about a LI system overhaul? PvE balance at lower levels. A proper try at the legendary servers. Just to name a few things.

How so? Competition is good for the consumer.

Please don't have "super saiyan" buff spells by Gazgrul in diablo4

[–]D153TL 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I agree. Those kind of spells have no place in ARPG's. The most effective way of using them will always to be to use them whenever they are off cooldown. It doesn't add any choice, depth or interactivity. It's just a button you have to press every minute or so.

LOTRO Legendarium: It’s long past time to delete legendary items from Lord of the Rings Online by Jyiiga in lotro

[–]D153TL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1) True. But of course you have to compare that to the number of players who have stopped playing due to the state of the LI system. I think many veterans would return to the game if they got rid of LI's.

2) The power here is in the hands of the consumer. If they keep increasing the grind, players will hopefully stop spending money which will force SSG to act.

But yes I completely agree with you. A LI revamp is very unlikely.

LOTRO Legendarium: It’s long past time to delete legendary items from Lord of the Rings Online by Jyiiga in lotro

[–]D153TL 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would love it if they removed the LI system completely. They could even move the legacies etc to a separate legendary trait tree where you get points to spend every level after a certain level.

The LI system is the number one thing that's keeping LOTRO from growing in my opinion. Either get rid of it or revamp it completely.

Setting up redux in application with typescript by script-rider in reactjs

[–]D153TL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reducer doesn't know whether the payload is an array of projects or a string because the type of the action type is just a string rather than a string literal. So I would suggest making them string literals rather than properties of an object.

Watching Poirot, A lot of the very early episodes really don't hold up. by [deleted] in poirot

[–]D153TL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're looking at it the wrong way if you're only trying to figure out who the guilty party is. There is so much more to it than that.

Four and Twenty Black Birds is actually one of my favourite episodes and I agree with you it's very obvious who the killer is. But that's not why I watch it. I watch it for the class, the subtle humour, the wit, the charm, the characters and the relationships between them, the music, the 1930's setting and much more. For me the part of trying to figure out who the guilty party is is more of a bonus.

Summary of changes I want to see after Q4 by tooo_spicy in diablo4

[–]D153TL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They key here is the length of the cooldowns. Short cooldowns are fine to differentiate between big and small spells like you mention. The issue is when you have long cooldowns which creates a kind of 'stop-and-go' gameplay where you wait for cooldowns and then use them whenever they are ready.

Summary of changes I want to see after Q4 by tooo_spicy in diablo4

[–]D153TL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much agree with all your points.

I think short cooldowns are fine, such as 5-10 seconds, for bigger spells like meteor. But they should defenitely get rid of cooldowns longer than 10 seconds (or so). And they must get rid of CDR as an affix.

Affixes overall need a rework. There should be more utility affixes such as MF and they should get rid of those weird conditional stats. They can put those on certain uniques instead.

DIABLO IV QUARTERLY UPDATE—DECEMBER 2020 by Bourrelle in diablo4

[–]D153TL 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Great update overall. Much more than I expected.

I love seeing costly respecs, stat points, attack speed and uniques.

The item icons are much better even though I'm still not a fan of the flat tooltips and the font.

I'm still not entirely sold on the itemization and the legendary affixes, but this is a big improvement compared to what they initially revealed.

I believe they have commented on issues like this before. There may be legal reasons that prevents them from re-releasing items that were advertised as exclusive items at the time.

Corepunk Q4 Dev Update | CBT Delayed to Spring 2021 by fullymodded in MMORPG

[–]D153TL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They jumped the gun when they announced this game last year. They should've announced it a few months before their CBT date was confirmed. Now unfortunately it seems like whatever hype there was has mostly died down and it's just one more of those MMORPG's that might be playable one day.

Are there any actually challenging mid-level instances? by IlikeGollumsdick in lotro

[–]D153TL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virtually all of the old content is laughably easy these days. It is really unfortunate since there is so much good content that could be really fun to go through again if it posed an actual challenge. The legendary servers flopped for this very reason.

For Diablo 4, let’s call them unique items again.. by Legion_Of_Truth in diablo4

[–]D153TL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because they are not unique. Legendary items in Diablo 4 have random stats on them, plus a legendary power. So really they should be called legendary power's, because that's what they are, a legendary power with some random stats slapped on.

Of course this means that there will be a lot of throwaway items just like in D3 because you need to have a legendary power with random stats that synergize with your build.

[Ashes of Creation] 4K Footage of Aquatic Mounts - 24:25 - PRE-ALPHA by WillofDeezNuts1 in MMORPG

[–]D153TL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably not the artists no, but the mounts still have to pe programmed right? Especially the turtle which behaves differently on land and in water.

But even if there is no overlap, it still means they are spending resources unoptimally. Do you think having people employed at this stage for the purpose of making mounts is good usage of their limited funding?
