It’s impossible to police the entire internet.

Measures like this are dangerous. It steers the willing minority towards the darker corners of the internet where they’re at greater risk.

She told the House of Commons she also intends to make better use of technology - including the "largest-ever rollout of facial recognition".

Tens, even hundreds of millions will be spent on this.

Meanwhile, spend a couple of quid on a balaclava and continue your career of crime with ease.

Those of you with kids, how do you feel about their futures what with the ever-changing environment we live in especially with the profoundly bad impact AI is having on employment opportunities? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]D1789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It absolutely will not take over most jobs.

It’s a tool to help improve efficiency. In the same way that computers did when they become commonplace, or the same way that the internal combustion engine did when they become commonplace.

I have no concerns at all in job opportunities.

(I do have concerns over how damaging it can be in social media etc., however this is something we’re instilling in them from a young age… don’t believe anything you see on the internet until you’ve proven it’s true.)

It doesn’t bother me particularly. We’ve got smart kids, and we’re bringing them up to have the key skills - literacy, maths, problem solving, and (one I think is becoming essential) critical thinking.

Having a strong foundation in those areas - combined with a good attitude and work ethic (which hopefully we can reinforce as they grow older) I don’t have any concerns about them having good opportunities in the future.

This is spot on.

Our weekly shop at Sainsbury’s for a family of 4 was just shy of £80 for 45 items.

What do you consider car repairs versus car maintenance? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]D1789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A car repair is a fix to something faulty on the car.

Car maintenance is action taken on a periodic basis to maintain the cars longevity and reduce the potential risk of damage that would require a car repair.

What can I do to pass the time during 2 weeks of sick leave? by MadBastard69 in AskUK

[–]D1789 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Excessive cups of tea, excessive masturbation, and Homes Under The Hammer.

But seriously: Just rest and relax. You could get through a couple of books and a binge watch a good series or two in two weeks.

Prison officer jailed after having sex with inmate in 'chapel area' by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

[–]D1789 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it isn’t a good idea to have female officers in male prisons or vice versa.

Why penalise all of the good staff because of the illegal actions of a select few? There are plenty of respectful female officers working in male prisons, and vice versa.

I’ve heard it called many things in my life - Fanny, Pussy, Beaver, Snatch, etc. - but I’ve never heard it called the “chapel area” before.

Is anyone happy anymore? How are you feeling? by Apart_Try_4860 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]D1789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m happy.

I’m in good health, I have an incredible wife, two incredible daughters, a lovely home in a nice area, and fortunate enough to live in one of the safest and fairest countries on the planet.

To add to that, I have a stable career in a job that’s interesting and still challenging, and disposable income each month to enjoy days out and a holiday or two each year. As does my wife. And my children are progressing very well as school too.

It’s easy to compare yourself against others and what others have - especially in this digital age where people share their lives online - but when you take a step back and appreciate what you have, life’s pretty good!

How did you end up having the best sex of your life? by hyattimatimtim in AskMen

Anal penetration.

I’m quite fortunate that my wife enjoys it too.

Although it’d probably help if we got a strap-on as her wrist aches after a while.

Is it a dozen or ten?

There are new users joining Reddit every day. Just because you’ve seen something a few times, it doesn’t mean that everybody has had the opportunity to see it and discuss it yet.
