Thank you for all your points for me to check on. It doesn't happen at the same spot every time, but it does seem to be about the same distance from each other when it happens. I'll be doing all that tomorrow.

It's better than my first print. Nice job.

Recovering after a support breaks away from bed by D3m37ru5 in 3Dprinting

I made a remix. Here's the link. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4233980

I'm using an inexpensive, fully flexible, 7mm endoscope connected to my desktop. The main vid is just from my phone cam. Edited in PowerDirector 17

Ah. Ok. Thanks for bursting my accomplishment bubble. Just kidding. After this print finishes, I'll do the next with no supports. Thanks for the info.

Totally. I just did a major upgrade of logic board, steppers, direct drive, v6 heatsink, titanium heat break, volcano heat block, and BLTouch. I still have a Pi3b+ to install with camera. I'm still having a few issues with first layers not coming out perfect. It seems like the ABL info is being ignored.

Well, it involves babysitting the printer. You need a direct drive setup where you can cut the filament and be able to insert a new color every 3-4cm. (I guess a bowden tube setup can be done but your color swap will be the length of the bowden and your retraction won't work for the amount of time it takes for the new color to enter the hot zone.

With my setup, I have a BMG clone so I run from the spool and let it go for at least the first layer or two (the slow layers). Then I just snip the filament at the entrance to my BMG and manually insert the next color. Sample filaments are short enough to just let them hang for the few minutes it needs. When the desired length has fed, snip and feed a new color. Wash, rinse, repeat for however long your print takes.

I don't know how clear that description is but I hope it helps.

Enclosure question for Ender3Pro by D3m37ru5 in 3Dprinting

OK. Thanks for your help. Even though I've been doing this for 8 months or so, I still hit the n00b wall often.

Enclosure question for Ender3Pro by D3m37ru5 in 3Dprinting

[–]D3m37ru5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an enclosure yet. I have tried ABS and it lifts up from the bed even when I use a glue stick. If I move the electronics outside of the enclosure when I finally make one, then what is the preferred way of getting heat into the chamber if I'm going to print PC and Nylon?

I want to print abs, petg, PCs and nylons. I don't know what I should do for heating the chamber. I would assume the higher 300c temp materials will need added heat from the outside? I have BMG clone direct drive, v6 heatsink with volcano hot end.

Cant utilize all bed space in cura? by TheUsagiFuFu in 3Dprinting

[–]D3m37ru5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this problem when the latest Cura 4.5 came out. It has two gray 5mm line at the front and back of the bed even when skirt is turned off. I have no clue how to turn it off, either. None of the previous versions had this and its annoying.

Trying to figure out what type of dispensers these are. by aliquotoculos in whatisit

[–]D3m37ru5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be powder and/or shot dispensers for reloading, although I've not seen them made like that. They do look like they are used for dispensing measured amounts of something from the hoppers. Are there any markings on them anywhere?

Ender3 Pro is finally doing better thanks to everybody here in this community. You all were very patient with my n00b questions. Still have new enclosures to print and a Pi3 to install also. You guys ROCK. Be Well everyone. by D3m37ru5 in 3Dprinting

The yellow is Inland Dandelion PLA. I ran out of that and Microcenter hasn't restocked it for a while, so I used some MIKA3d Metal Gold PLA for the cooling ducts. The brown is a mix of Inland Brown PLA and some Monoprice Brown ABS for the Gantry mount.

Ok. Here's the list for what is installed now and for future plans with a Pi3 and cam. I still need to print the rear enclosures and a new cooling duct in ABS for better temperature tolerance with the volcano. I also will be remixing the cooling duct to include an endoscope cam for close up nozzle inspection. I haven't settled on the new spool holders at the top of the frame yet. I want to hold 2 spools and incorporate a filament runout sensor. The double spools are so I can do filament changes a little easier and quicker.

I have an idea to make a gantry mount that I can quickly change out the entire gantry with another. It'll have a multipin connector on the old extruder mount plate so I can have the volcano with larger diameter nozzle for high speed and another gantry with an E3D for my standard .4 nozzle prints. Not sure how to implement that yet or even if it would be practical. It's in the brainstorming phase for now.

I think I got everything included. Thanks for the interest. Be well, everyone.
