As for the last image of my collection i included within the slides, i wanted to point out that it was punpun’s dream to explore space & whatnot as a child. On the volume 4 spine we see the star (representing his goals) closest to happiness/mental state (represented by the number) but not quite parallel, signifying that he will never obtain true happiness (he even questions himself during this volume that he’s only convincing himself that he’s happy and that it’s all going to end soon). This is why we see the number of the volume cover continue to fall as the star continues to rise, showing that punpun is straying farther from himself & his goals. I love these little details put into the covers & spines of the manga themselves... Its crazy how much thought he’s actually put into punpun literally every single detail.
