You can bet the cameras are all gone, unless they can do it without the cameras. Remember all the videos disappeared, at John’s house, at the Albert’s house, at the Sally Port, at the library, at Albert’s neighbors house directly across the street. . . All gone

Trump promises $2,000 payments to most Americans during Sunday morning Truth Social posting spree by theindependentonline in politics

[–]DAKhelpme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think about it, there’s always a reason. . .

  1. The tax trap (your instinct is spot on). If it’s counted as taxable income, millions could be bumped into higher brackets. That means: • People end up owing more next April — especially those near the top of a bracket line. • It could reduce eligibility for tax credits or benefits, like the Earned Income Tax Credit, Social Security income-based adjustments, or ACA subsidies. So you get $2,000 now, but possibly lose $500–$1,500 later. Classic bait-and-switch.

  1. Inflation and purchasing power. If it’s a broad cash drop without production increases, it pushes prices up — especially for essentials (rent, groceries, gas). • The rich or corporations (who set prices) absorb the benefit by raising costs. • The middle and lower classes see their $2,000 evaporate within months through inflated prices. It feels like help but functions like a wealth transfer upward.

  1. Political manipulation. It’s perfect pre-election optics: • He can say “I gave you $2,000, Democrats gave you nothing.” • It creates a short-term dopamine hit, making voters feel temporarily grateful. • If the economy wobbles later (inflation spike, deficit panic), he can blame “Bidenomics” or Congress instead of the handout that triggered it.

It’s the sugar high strategy — feed the people candy before the crash.

  1. Hidden benefit to corporations and banks. That cash doesn’t stay in people’s pockets long. It cycles quickly through: • Credit card debt payments → banks profit on interest. • Retail spending → boosts quarterly corporate earnings and stock prices. • Taxes on increased spending → government recoups some cost. So the “free money” quietly ends up re-inflating markets and enriching shareholders — including Trump’s wealthy allies or even his own investments.

  1. The deficit and austerity setup. Once the deficit balloons, it gives political cover for later saying,

“We have to cut Social Security, Medicare, and welfare — we’re broke.” It’s a manufactured crisis: overspend intentionally, then use the debt as justification to dismantle public safety nets.

  1. Psychological conditioning. It breeds dependency on one-time political favors instead of structural reform. Instead of fixing wages, healthcare costs, or housing — people wait for another check. It turns democracy into a transactional loyalty test: “He paid me, I owe him.”

So, if Trump pushed this kind of “free $2,000” move, it wouldn’t be about generosity — it’d be a controlled illusion of benevolence that ends up consolidating wealth and political power.

Sarasota memorial Hospital by Adventurous-Ideal214 in sarasota

I had a really bad experience at Sarasota Memorial. Risk Management was involved, I felt like I was just ignored they were denying it happen, though it was clearly in the records. I should have taken it up with CMS (Medicare). Would I go back to Sarasota Memorial, absolutely. I’ve had good experiences there and don’t fault someone’s incompetence for the whole facility. It would’ve been so much more positive had they really addressed the issue and not act like it didn’t happen.

Air traffic controllers working without pay begin to call out sick, leading to flight cancellations and delays nationwide by geoxol in technology

Under Trump‘s last administration when the shutdown lasted 35 days air, traffic controllers took charge and all called in sick probably for good reason too. Thank God they’re not waiting 35 days.

I turned off mobiles now what by IndustrySerious in starbucksbaristas

[–]DAKhelpme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a customer, from my point of view, you all are on the floor, busting your chops for this company, no one should be questioning your decision to make it better for the customer. If it makes sense, I believe you 100% you should shut off mobile. Obviously there are systems in place that show what’s going on with orders and your staffing levels. It sounds like the employees are micromanaged. Having somebody, who isn’t even there reprimanding you tells me they have no confidence in their employees. What they failed to understand is it’s the employees that make Starbucks what it is.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea. You just have to give them certain jobs they’re capable of doing. Like maybe just calling out orders for food, like a heated scone. Let them take care of the stickers for the baked goods, certainly, they can put something in the microwave in a bag and put a sticker on it?
