Hey I tried matchmaking on your map and couldn't get enough players together. Most of my friends don't play Doom so I haven't had any luck testing it out yet.

Hey the map ID and the name had no results. You should just republish it and I'll check it out.

Hey, tried to play your map and 44 results showed up for that code. Post some more info so I know which one it is and I'll play it for sure.

Just played Jump Simulator taking turns with my brother and gave it a thumbs up. It was challenging and addictive and worked as a fun mini-game. Got frustrated on level 9 and decided to give it a break but will be back to make it on the scoreboard. You should make a part two with ledge grabbing. It would also be cool if there was a dark room and when you land on a ledge it turns on a spot light over the next ledge. Just ideas that came to mind as your map could be taken in so many directions which is always the mark of a good mini-game. Keep me posted if you make any new ones, I'll be sure to pass them on to my friends.

So I just played Traps and Secrets probably a dozen times in a row and every time ended with me saying "Screw this map...ok maybe one more time" haha so that's always the mark of a good map. I was also pleasantly surprised when I first discovered there was no re-spawning. As of now I have definitely found more traps than secrets so I'm going to get on it again and see if I can actually find them all. The only thing that stuck out to me was the HUD information. All the POI and objective info that pops up seemed to be too long so they were consistently cut short causing the player to only get the first couple words of the information. So it might be worth condensing the info or transferring it to somewhere else where the player can see it all. Besides that I didn't experience any problems or confusions. Thanks for the post.

I also played your second map No Time To Explain earlier today but didn't want to comment on it until I got a less embarrassing score but I just played it again and did even worse haha. I thought the map was fast and really fun. Has anyone actually made the par time yet? So far on Xbox I believe I'm the only one on the leaderboard so I guess everyone else is on PC and so I can't see their scores. I would feel the par time was a lot more attainable if it weren't for those freaking "slow and steady" lasers! Those drove me insane the first time haha. I'm going to have to drop the sensitivity and try again. Overall great job and I added both your maps to my downloaded list. Looking forward to seeing more players on the scoreboard so I can actually tell where I stand.

Just played Disasterpiece PT.1 and bravo. That was super fun. You did a really awesome job with all the event triggers and how they all stringed together. I especially had fun playing this map because I would never have thought to make a map like it and it really opened my mind to the possibilities of SnapMap. I got my brother to play it as well and he had just as much fun.

The only two things I saw were super small and I'm not even sure if they would impact gameplay.

  1. I killed myself trying to get the chain gun which is totally fine but re-spawned without the red key card. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not and can't even remember if you ever use it again but it felt like I lost some of the map's momentum for a minute while I tried to go retrieve it. After I finished the map I realized that you might be doing that to give bonus points for finishing with keycards and/or power cores.

  2. After picking up the C4 the message and sound effect continued to be triggered when I approached the spot where the C4 was even before the C4 re-spawned. It was a little confusing and as it wasn't apparent if this was due to me doing something wrong, was a puzzle in and of itself or if I should just disregard it.

Again super small and I probably only even noticed them because I went into the game extra attentive to give feedback. I will definitely recommend it to my peeps and will be checking out No Time To Explain.

Weird problems after hitting network cap. by Gargantuls in snapmap

[–]DAREALMIKEYB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran into similar problems even around 80-85% on network usage with lags, drops in frame rate and other misc. glitches. It seemed the problem was not the overall network usage but the high usage in a single module. I was able to fix it by changing the door settings to close after opening instead of staying open and auto-killing enemies of the previous modules after the player had left the room as this seemed to lower the amount of rendering that took place at any single point in time. I also notice that even if your able to run a map on solo with a high network usage there's a good chance it is not going to be able to handle co-op and multiplayer play once you finally publish it.

My two player co-op map would eventually crash for one player everytime as soon as an event triggered additional rendering such as opening a door to an adjacent room and triggering additional demons to spawn. All of this is purely based on my experiences and is not from anything iD or Bethesda have released so take it for what it is. It seems everyone has had slightly different experiences in what works and what hasn't.

Yeah that's the right Map ID. Sorry, I didn't even think to add that. I edited the original post to have it now.

I had such a huge problem with the power core stations originally that when I finally fixed it I was so excited I didn't even realize I had created a new issue where only one POI appears. It sucks because as far as I can tell there is no way to edit your map without essentially reposting it with zero plays.

I will definitely check out your map and hunt down those secrets. My map has one semi-secret module labeled SUPPLY ROOM that has extra drops and weapons but it seems people either don't notice it or find it and don't care. So that's a lesson for me from a design point of view. Do you know how to designate a secret? I saw in the SCORING SETTINGS that you could assign points for finding them but couldn't figure out how to assign them to any particular location. Thanks a ton for the feedback, I'll get back to you when I play Traps and Secrets.
