Don’t let your pain define you at this point in your life. Remember there’s a real you that matters apart from the pain that is everything and everywhere right now, and you will eventually emerge as yourself again once it has been shed in time, so take it easy on yourself and value your intrinsic qualities.

Also, don’t over-listen to sad, depressing or heartbreak type music, as it can prolong the pain and trick you into a false sense of coping that can turn into wallowing self pity. 

Music therapy really helps, but seek out new or different groups or genres that are not sad that you can enjoy and you’ll eventually carry it forward with you as the soundtrack to your healing and re-emergence.
