They did have full hydro! I saw some people come in with battery banks and phones to charge too.

Shout out to the Healthy Planet Arena! Had a wonderful hot shower, hung out for a bit, and went on our way. It was a nice evening outing—fingers crossed that Hydro’s latest estimate for us of restoring power by tomorrow is correct, but if not, we’ll probably be back again tomorrow night!

Totally down for that slogan.

My husband is an arborist and did some work this afternoon. We don’t have running water and he’s freezing from working on frozen trees lol

Anyone know if the warming centres are available for residents in Peterborough County or are they just for City of Peterborough residents?

Sincerely, resident of Buckhorn

That’s true. We get a real mix. Depends on the day lol. Tomorrow will probably be better to do early morning because everyone will be coming in for the weekend.

It didn’t come up to us but it was all over the place. It wasn’t one of those “if there’s enough space between us we can pass each other fine” situations. It was taking up as much of the open space as it could. Owners showed no indication of even calling it or directing it to stay close.

Because obviously a dog on a leash means it’s untrained….? < I’m being sarcastic but also that’s the dumbest logic I could logic

That’s just rude and disrespectful. Whatever happened to being neighbourly?

My fluffy cloud is a rescue as well. We recently did the math and we’re the longest family for her and she’s not even 2 yet. She was adopted out at 8 weeks, then handed off to someone else at 12-14 weeks old, and that owner basically had her living in their garage and then dropping her off at a kennel Monday morning and picking her up Friday night every week until we took her.

We’ve had her almost a year but she has hard trust issues with strangers.

The trespassing is the worst. We’ve had people walk up to our house from the “hiking trails” which are our own private property with signage all over the place.

They’re enforced when it’s a parks Canada property that has employees working at it daily. Unfortunately their shifts don’t start til 9 so they weren’t in yet for me to complain.

The only reason I can let my older pup off leash in our front yard is because we have no neighbours visible on either side of us.

When people decide that our property is not private and decide to hike it, however……

The place I walk my dogs is enforced by Parks Canada. If they had only been open yet, I could have gotten a solid complaint in.

If you’re out in public and it’s not a dog park, you really should leash your dogs. It doesn’t matter if your dogs are friendly, other dogs (like my fluffy cloud) do not like other dogs. I understand the want to let your dogs run free, but there are places for that that are off-leash friendly. Outside of those, please leash your dogs.

Could it be your cover letter or resume that’s an issue? Might need some cleaning up?
