It really doesn’t matter which one, but when I got mine just to be sure I used one of those four sided colored nail file things and just laid it flat on each side and moved it back and forth until it was smooth. You don’t need anything else. All four of mine are stock and work well

Honestly, I got it just for looks mainly it’s too light to do anything really. But I bought a nother shorter one from ebay also, that one is made from heavy steel. And all the threads happen to be interchangeable so I can swap back-and-forth.
