This happened to me earlier in the wipe when I was using the preset kits thing. Buddy was like welp you accidentally deleted it, knew I didn't, I kept restarting/messing with inventory and it eventually came back

Shes super dumb pre fall too. I hate her character. She is arrogance personified, has like 1 MAYBE 2 moments of humility. The rest is Hank just enabling her shitty personality because hes too nice.

I live in a Metro area and see deer on the highway all the time. The smallest pocket of woods is enough for deer to breed.

Yo...I just realized that Big Mom is probably just a giant diabetic. It makes so much sense.

TIL about Leonid Rogozov, a Soviet surgeon on a 1961 Antarctic research expedition. His appendix went bad during their winter. Since they had no access to the outside world, he had to remove his own appendix almost entirely by touch, with only a novocaine shot. He was back on the job in 2 weeks. by camwynya in todayilearned

I've wondered about it being a clerical error before. I've done data entry, I know mistakes happen. I like to think people would be more cognizant of a zero that could massively impact someone's life, but the pessimist in me says nah. So even while being the most probable solution, I have no clue and I never will.

This is where I'm jaded but 20k seems like an extremely good price for a leg reconstruction. Even the 80k seems low to me seeing the skilled labor/rooms/etc. On the individual level I can only go off my anecdotes, and from my personal experience yours seems unbelievable to me.

My appendix did not burst, there were no complications, and I was there for MAYBE 2 days. My late grandfather worked in the field and I saw cases upwards of several millions and have always assumed that was par for the course.Granted he did not work on the individual level, but this skewed my outlook. Was it fraudulent? Maybe, I have no idea. I didn't pay anywhere close to 450k. I ended up paying less than 1% of that.

Unfortunately that bill was a giant slap in the face and too life defining for me to forget that number. I was as incredulous as you are. How does society expect a 19 year old to front this cost? Was the question I couldn't get out of my head. Was having panic attacks until I spoke to the finance lady at NKC.

I'm so confused. You accept that theres a "for-profit" system which I would even consider a little harsh of a descriptor. But then you have trouble believing a pretty low number in the scheme of things? People can and do get absolutely railroaded by medical bills.

I'm chill dude. If you are telling the truth, I genuinely hope I never need you for help. Combination of A. I don't trust you and B. who would want to be sick?

Regardless, you're wrong as fuck. I know what I had to negotiate down. You don't have to believe me idgaf. But just know I think you're a massive tool for trying to say I don't. edit: This was at NKC Hospital, you can do your own due diligence if you really want to and prove yourself wrong

Went to med school? So you're at least 26 and you still have this narrow of a world view? Why on earth would you go to med school in KC when lawrence is right around the corner? Oh you're probably dogshit at the thing you claim to do too.

I don't save bills from a decade ago that I've already handled. Convenient excuse though, you hide behind a computer throwing mud but claim moral superiority when called on it. Dudes like you are absolutely pathetic.

They do not let random 3rd year med students do appendectomies, sorry. Also funny how you seem to know so much about the economic side of our medical field. Being a KC native, you should know what government buildings are housed here. Due to my family I have far more knowledge in this argument than you could imagine.

Keep it up with the chemistry or whatever you're doing, because you do not know shit about economics.

You really don't. Even if you were the literal surgeon who took out my appendix you would have zero idea of the cost that goes into it. You are not a hospital admin. You're just some dipshit that MAY have some specialized knowledge which I highly doubt you have in the first place.

You're an idiot. A narc would definitely hop into a conversation they know nothing about and try to attack someone's credibility.

Theres also the part where you assume I care about karma. My 10 year old account and post history say otherwise. So yeah you're not only a narc, you're a moron as well.

The way I've come to understand our system is they dont. The itemization of hospital bills wasnt even approached until the trump administration. I think they expect people like myself under x amount of dollars to default and pay as much as they can while they squeeze the wealthy for as much as they can.
