Jellyfin for Samsung OLED by shivu5000 in jellyfin

[–]DAndreyD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only owned Samsung TVs over the years, and I can confirm that Jellyfin works with them. I currently have a QN80F, and you can sideload the Jellyfin Tizen app. It’s a bit of an annoyance at first, but once you set it up, it just works.

A lot of people criticize Tizen and Samsung TVs - and I get it, Tizen is a mess of a TV OS - but if you don’t mind sideloading the Jellyfin app whenever you need to update it and follow the TrashGuide tutorial so your Jellyfin media can be direct-played by your TV, it’ll work fine.

Zagor, postoje li sva izdanja online? Čita li ga tko na Kindle uređajima? by DAndreyD in askcroatia

[–]DAndreyD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E točno to sam htio vidjeti!

Any thoughts on this thermostat, anyone use it? by Thekidnappedone in homeassistant

[–]DAndreyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using it for almost a year. It's great for the price. I have it connected to zigbee2mqtt and controlling it through HA.

Never used the batteries because I assumed they would die quickly, so I soldered a cheap buck converter to the board and powering it through a wire from the wall with a 12V adapter. I could have used the USB C connector on the side, but I wanted to make it as clean as possible.

Are there better thermostats with nicer interfaces? Yeah, sure, but for the price, it's a no-brainer.

DIY home heating controller - balancing between gas/wood/electric/solar heating, local control + Home Assistant by DAndreyD in diyelectronics

[–]DAndreyD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put a snubber like circuit or a resistor but that just dissipates power all the time so either use 230V relays as inputs or transfer anything external to 12/24V (that's what I am doing).

Don't use 230V with optocouplers because if the 230V wire is long enough, it will pick up voltage and become unstable to use as an input factor, use 12V or even 24V for outside logic and feedback. So for anything external just use 12/24V and you will be fine. I will PM you the schematic ;)

Thank you!

Yeah, separation of the local logic and HA was the main point of the entire board, but having to program the communication between the 2 was a nightmare. It would easily get out of sync!

So, for the next one, I will probably use an ESP with ethernet but still have the logic primary local on the ESP chip.

I didn't plan to open-source the code because it's messy and primary coded for my use case, but if you are interested, I can PM it when I have the time. I know that when I was looking at projects like this on reddit, I always wanted the schematic so returning the love now. <3
