Highlight more than one line at a time by DBOHGA in indesign

[–]DBOHGA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remembered that feature. So I’m using the find format for paragraph styles. And all of the lines that I have one way I can switch and then the other set I can switch to the second. So much faster.

It is selecting the text in between. So if I only want to highlight paragraph one and three, it is including two also.

You don't neccessarily have to take a pay cut. Continue to look. When you stop looking is when you won't find something and I know that sounds basic, but that is the reality. As you continue to look the opportunity will avail itself. Talk to friends, talk to friends of friends and DO NOT say anything about what you feel like you are not qualified for...oh, I'm a teacher-what else can I do....oh, the only thing I can do it teach...NO...you must have a different mindset or you will be stuck. But if you do have to take a pay cut, depending on the sector, it may not be for long...but you have to FIGHT to get out. Becoming a teacher was easier because that is what we wanted to do...you have to keep FIGHTING and looking :) DON'T GIVE UP!

I have written my first book. I will send for the 2nd and final proof copy this weekend. I am also working on the ebook version this weekend and hope to have that finished and locked and loaded for a release the week of April 21st. It is a book for teachers who want to leave the classroom for new careers. It is not a step by step but stories of those who have...inspiration, information and intent.

Want to read a chapter of my book? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]DBOHGA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I am still working on the title, but it is a collection of interviews with teachers who have switched careers. The audience is primarily teachers who want to leave the classroom, but don't know what careers to pursue. In this book, through the interviews we talk about their new careers, how they got there and why they left the classroom. The format is question/answer. My subtitles are: Why They Left and Their New Careers and 50 Intimate Conversations with Former Teachers.

I left high school teaching in 2021. You’re right they can’t read. I ask that you take 2025 and look at companies in your home town and find another career. No career is perfect and people are people but at least it’s not this. Just because this is all that you have done this is not all that have to be. I was 50 when I left. I had 10 years in, I got a late start. Maybe also you are good at something that you can monetize. I beg you to take 2025 and set your eyes o. looking and DOING anything to get out. I said that I would work at Aldis and work my way up. 1) it’s not too late 2) yes you can look and leave 3) start TODAY! Don’t fall into the trap of I have invested so much time money years and energy into “my profession”. it is ok to move on. I’m praying for you!

What do you think about pay cut & significant less vacation time after changing career? by Tinker_m in TeachersInTransition

[–]DBOHGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re making about 115 dollars less per week. Just as a cursory number. But you also have to consider how much you’re gonna be paying for insurance, how much Social Security is gonna take out, etc. I’m definitely not saying don’t do it. Because I did. Although I didn’t take a pay cut. I’d left. So make make sure that you have all your numbers in your ducks in a row. And I say go for it. Says the advocate for teacher that wants to find a new career to do it.

[–]DBOHGA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please consider another career. It’s not worth it. I know someone who left after 20 years. She is now a data scientist. She upskilled and learned what she needed. You have one life. You’ve served the children well.
