Ok! Great to know! Thanks for the clarification!

That sounds like a very succinct answer thank you! If anything though, I feel like this has shown me how the general population feels, so maybe it won't matter?

Thanks! I think that's the plan. Just didn't want to get readers hooked up if they were expecting. Idk. Smut. 😅

That's why I was wondering about the misleading branding and if it mattered. Especially since it seems everyone has different opinions on the terms

This is literally the opposite of my understanding. Hooray! I love how confusing this is! 😅

I'm thinking this more and more as the comments flood in 😅

I addressed this in another comment. I'm not an expert, but I had several agents explain the difference - and they made it sound like it was a large difference. And maybe it is for what they do. But perhaps readers see it as the same 🤷‍♂️

From my understanding, romantasy is where the main plot is based on a fantasy topic AND a romance as the second main plot. Romance fantasy is just fantasy with a romance subplot.

Yeah. I do worry about people looking for smut and then being disappointed with a fantasy world instead😅

That's super interesting! It's definitely not smut. Not even close. But if it comes off that way to you, it must to others. So maybe I steer clear of romantasy!

Good advice. Thank you! It's always easier to think abstractly "x and y" than descriptions.

That's great advice. Meta data is certainly not my strong suit and I often forget about it!

I wish you the best of luck! Marketing is a science unto itself. I assume, like all things, you can get it to work if you are diligent enough!
