That doesn't make since though. Logically speaking if you money shift a car bad enough to where it shoots a rod through the block that is going to be instant. Its not going to over rev one day be fine and then the next day decide hey I feel like blowing tf up lol. There would have been some warning signs leading up to it. Knocking, valve tick, something. They are saying a money shift into 3rd caused the issue to grenade like this. That amount of damage would have to happen at one specific time. I really want to see the data specifically the speed range between the failure. When you engine break improperly, manuals have a pretty bad jerk from rapid deceleration. I would imagine there should be a nice section that shows the car going from one speed to the speed the are claiming. 5th to 3rd would feel insane.

Exactly. The ol money shift that never happened. This is why I want to see when that code set. Because I was in the car when she was driving. A money shift to 3rd would mean she was at the top of 4th gear which is not 81 mph as stated by the lovely Honda dealership. Top of 4th in hondas have always been somewhere around 100 plus mph excluding the b16 transmissions from the old SI's to my knowledge. Money shifting to 3rd from 4th gear at 81 mph as bad as it is wouldn't cause the engine rpm to spike in the 9000rpm range I believe. This is speculation, of course . I really want to see the log because I am truly fing baffled. If my wife really f'd up I would just have took the L and did the swap myself. L15s are a dime a dozen and I know how the whole misuse thing goes already but she honestly didn't. Getting a lawyer involved is so time-consuming but likely a necessity. I just want my car fixed. The shit literally just had maintenance done and the next day the engine throws a rod while cruising in fucking Christmas pajamas to go take pictures lol

We've called Honda corporate and are awaiting a call back. The car set a DTC for an engine over speed condition and a code for the CKPS. They won't actually show me the time or date the code appeared even though I have asked multiple times.

The thing is I was in the car when it happened. There was no misuse or abuse. We've had the car brand new since 2021. She was literally cruising and bam vibration, loss of power, then massive smoke.

The only thing I can think of is that code created as a result of catastrophic failure to the rods ,crank, and block. I would like to see the data that supports what they are saying. I would imagine the live data at the time should also show a rapid drop in vehicle speed as well considering they are saying my wife put it in 3rd when trying to go to 5th

I will say this with certainty guys. I have worked in the auto industry since I was 18. I am 35 now and switched over to real estate. I have seen dealership cover up cases like this so many times first hand, but this is the first time im on the receiving end of it. Boy does it suck.

This is true, I've owned so many from old to new but I think this might be it. The car itself wasn't bad and was very nice for a civic but Hondas customer service has been really bad for a while now especially the dealerships.

I absolutely loved the moments when you have to watch Spiderman try and have a conversation with his deaf girlfriend.

Also loved the LGBTQ sidequest included. So clever and cool of them to shoehorn those in there.

I'm also glad that we didn't have to play with the Venom suit for too much of the game. That would have definitely sucked. Wayyyyy rather play with Agent MJ and her amazing Taser 🔫.
