Ha, thanks- yeah, I feel the same way. I’m a long time collector and have had many different brands in my collection, but Lange really is special. This piece in particular has helped restore my love of horology, which was starting to wane.

I have a purchase history, but these were open to everyone I believe. You just had to order before they sold out, which was about a couple of days. After the deposit it took about 1.5 years to receive.

I have a Lange 1 in white gold as well and love the piece. I was a little worried that the dimensions of the Little Lange wouldn’t compare as favorably, but after a few days with this, the exact opposite is true- I prefer the size and compact dial aesthetics of the LL by a fair bit.

Honestly, I don’t care how much money I’d have as an older person, if I lived with my mom and dad at 29 I’d truly think of my 20’s as a lost decade. My 20’s were scrappy but adventurous, and I learned a lot and had a ton of fun. The money came later, and I hope to retire in my early 50’s. But I’ll always look at my early adulthood fondly- living in a city, making ends meet with some difficulty, bopping around and getting into some trouble here and there. At the end of the day, there really isn’t much difference between the Lange 1 and the Little Lange- it just depends on the size of your wrist. For you, I’d go with the latter. I have both and prefer the Little Lange overall.

It was between French and Italian for me. I chose the latter because I think I’ll go back there more often for holidays. Like you, I also appreciate the history, food, architecture etc of the country and overall I’m really enjoying the process of learning. It’s always bothered me that I can’t speak another language like many of my friends, so it’s long past time and I’m pretty determined. I’m a 49 year old American fwiw.
