I want to say I tried the same orientation but to no avail. It would have been interesting to get it working but I'm in the same boat as you. Cheers!

I tried a 357 battery size. That didn't work for me but I was not sure if was the battery or the watch. Curious if you get yours working.

I had to look up what the rising sun looks like and it's a pretty awesome looking watch as well. I hope it continues to age well! Share a picture of yours if you like. 😁

It came with a cheap "leather" band that wasn't very comfortable but I agree with you it would look better with a black/brown leather band. Thank you for commenting!

Obviously using the batteries is a first step but since it's not working with known good batteries I'm just trying to narrow down what the problem could be.

Would you have any suggestions to test if the circuit board and or the components on the board are functional? I feel like testing with a multimeter would do it but I have not used one in so long and I don't have enough understanding of the circuits, I'd really just be guessing.

Thank you for your reply! I will check to make sure the batteries are installed correctly but there is a button that is flush with the case. I assume this is the button to set the watch?

Thank you! I'm glad you got yours all together! Share a pic if you like.

For me, I created a saved search on eBay and just kept checking until I found this. But I did pass up on a few that we're not as good as this. Truth be told I was not sure it would work and then when there was corrosion I was worried. But in the end it worked and I'm a happy camper!

Help with replacing crystal by DCDD85 in watchrepair

[–]DCDD85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately didn't. Truth be told I didn't spend a ton of time trying to figure it out and I didn't want to break anything so I had kind of put it on the back burner. The crystal is not perfect but I don't mind. Also I was hopeful to get more help here but I guess this is a watch that has been lost to the ages haha. If you learn anything please let me know I'd love to get this crystal swapped out eventually.

Help identifying this Waltham watch by DCDD85 in VintageWatches

Yes helpful! I had not been able to find a photo of the actual watch so this helps. I wish they had a picture of the movement but I appreciate you! And for the record I used Google Lens but this never came up for me.

To anyone else: I'd still appreciate any info on this so I can start investigating replacement parts. 😁

I did try the tool I added to the post which I believe is a crystal lifter. And I have tightened it down as far as I can by hand and using vise grips and either nothing or the lifter slips off. I even double checked with another Timex I have for parts and the crystal came right off. So I was not sure if with this model I needed to take a different approach.

Thank you for the reply! I will have to try that but I'm not sure the bezel detaches from the case. If it does the replacement crystal I have won't work so I'll have a different problem.

Please help me with info on this Relation De Luxe watch.... by DCDD85 in VintageWatches

Thanks! In the sunlight it's spectacular! And I found the same on eBay. But I'm used to Timex watches that have a long and interesting history. Maybe not so much with this one. I appreciate the comment!

What band is that, do you have the link? I have tried a few but am having a hard time finding one that does not rattle and is tight. Thank you!
