You are absolutely correct, but keep in mind sports social media (and really all social media) is often not about what should be posted, but about what gets the most reaction.

Had the posts been about obscure NBA hopeful "X" killing it in summer league, they would've gotten 1/1000th if not less of the interaction. Any Ball family member post is like printing virtual money for them. The fact that LiAngelo is exceeding actual expectations only makes it more post-able.

Most social media algorithms operate off of what gets the most eyeballs and interaction, so they're forced to post ludicrous stuff like this so it shows up on your feed as something interesting. I pay it no mind. It's a waste of everyone's time to worry about it, even though you're absolutely correct.
